Quiet and classy boutique hotel

We was there for only one night. Our room was lovely with a balcony sharing with other rooms. The bathroom was clean and new and the water pressure was great.

Interesting historic place. Pleasant place to relax and a great base for exploring the Hawke's Bay. Spent 3 nights there, service is good and the staff very helpful. Stayed in the "William Nelson Suite" and we could relax on the verandah or in the grounds with its historic trees.

A beautiful historical house in the countryside. Six rooms decorated differently with ours having beautiful Italian furniture. The staff was wonderful and made arrangements for wine tasting, lunch and dinner with all excellent choices. Anna and Michael are gracious host.

Ormlie Lodge was a pleasant quiet, clean place to stay. The one staff member we saw all weekend was very pleasant and efficient. I can see the gardens were once glorious but are need of some love. Our room which was called Servants, was small, but ok for one night, and no robes, ironing board etc, but the iron was available on request.

Perfect Hawke's Bay Getaway

Looking for a place with some charm? Don't even think twice, this place is perfect. Conveniently located between both Napier and Hastings, we could not have asked for a better spot to stay. Delicious breakfast included and great wine list available. The fireplace was a treat in the dreary winter weather. Magnificent gardens. Great hospitality.

The staff made us feel welcome from Long before we arrived. The lodge is very beautiful and the setting quite magical. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are cosy and warm. The bathrooms are very clean and well equipped and the lighting good. The restaurant is very good and the breakfast is tasty and the toast and preserves generous. Location is good only a few minutes from the city.

Fabulous stay in the Bay.

If you like old style, high class living (as we do), then this is a must. Excellent service, great garden setting and attention to detail are all hallmarks of Ormlie Lodge. We had excellent dinner meals in the restaurant, but if food is your thing you should check ahead as the restaurant closes two times a week. Very highly recommended.

Lovely, warm & welcoming

Friendly team who are welcoming & helpful (when you lock yourself out of your room). Some rooms have verandah access to look at the view or read a book. Can stay home at Ormlie for dinner which we did, and had our taste buds tingled with scrumptious food over 3 courses. Next time we will stay for longer!
