Unfortunately we only had two days to spend at this wonderful house. I would love to have stayed longer and will definitely consider staying here again. The house is very lovely, in a quiet neighborhood and close to many restaurants and other sites. The host was excellent in her communication with us, and we would certainly recommend this property to everyone. Great stay!
Another wonderful stay at this property. Can't wait for the next time. Just hope it is not booked because this is a very popular property for good reason.
Traveled for a wedding. Even in the summer it is so centrally located we could walk anywhere we want in the quaint downtown area. Quiet street. Excellent charm. Recommend.
We book this house every year. Katherine is an awesome host. The house is always very welcoming and a cozy stay. Our favorite place is the wrap around back porch and the scenery in the backyard. This place is perfect everytime. We can't wait for next year!
This is our 5th time staying at this great house. We participate in missions connection week at Sagu each year and always stay at this house. Our team 5-6 people fits well here and even though we’re not at the house much, it’s a great place to come home to relax chat and have a snack.
The home was charming and nicely restored. The beds were comfortable and accommodated our family who were in town for a wedding. The back yard was really nice with a wonderful back porch. Katherine was a great host and accommodating when our flights were delayed. We would highly recommend this home.
My group of friends stayed here for the weekend in order to be close to Scarborough Fair. The house was so cute and walking distance from downtown which was great for going and getting dinner. The owner was kind enough to provide us with complimentary coffee, tea, and popcorn along with access to Netflix and Disney Plus! Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!
This house was perfect for our girls weekend. The property was exactly as listed. The hostess reached out to me with details and was close by in case we needed anything.
Excellent location with in walking distance to downtown which had lots of shopping and restaurant locations to choose from!
Loved every nook of this house! Beautifully decorated and so much character. My girlfriend and I were running the Hachie 50 and our husbands were our support crew. The house is perfectly situated, just walking distance to restaurants and shops and had all the touches of home if you want to stay in and cook. Katherine was wonderful and super responsive. Book it now! You won’t regret it!
We had a wonderful weekend and thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful home! Our nieces (who live nearby) loved the upstairs (stocked with toys and books) so much they begged to stay overnight 💕. The pictures don’t do justice to this precious house. Everything was perfect! We look forward to staying again soon!
My husband and I had to be in Waxahachie for a family wedding and there were various members of the brides family staying at the house with us. It was a wonderful place, with plenty of privacy for each family member and numerous areas to gather and talk. The house has been updated with all the necessities to make our stay perfect. Katherine was available when we needed her and was able to let us in just as we finished our drive across country. Anytime we come back to Waxahachie, it will be our place to stay.
This is an old home with a historical marker! It was super clean and included several supplies and even extras if needed. The home was decorated with period paintings and other beautiful decor fun to look at.
I needed to call the landlord a few times and she was so accommodating, friendly, helpful and a very nice and easy person to deal with. I recommend this house with 5 stars on all counts!!
Stayed here again this year. Great historic house in downtown Waxahachie TX. We come for the Truck Show in the park. Walking distance to downtown square and restaurants, shopping, antiquing. Quiet neighborhood. Plenty of birds, squirrels, cats etc. running around making it fun. We even took critter treats with us this time to watch the fun. Truck show, like everything else is just blocks away. If we attend the show again next year, we'll be staying here again.
The house was immaculately clean with modernized kitchen and baths and comfortable beds. We enjoyed its many seating areas and interesting details, and appreciated the easy walk to the town square. My daughter loved her cozy attic room.
Note that you may hear the occasional train blaring its horn during the night unless you're a heavy sleeper. The white noise machines were just something different to hear and didn't fully mask the trains anyway, so we didn't use them. Note that if you sleep in the upstairs room with uncovered window and 2 large skylights, you may want to bring aluminum foil and painter's tape to block light and provide privacy. Most of the windows throughout the house have no window treatments, but we did not feel watched by neighbors.
I recommend this house as a great option for a family staying in Waxahachie.
We booked our stay here about 2 years ago for a family trip from the UK to experience the total eclipse.
Katherine was very attentive and answered all queries promptly, advising on things to do etc in the area.
The house is lovely, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It had a great porch with a swing chair and rocking chair out front and decking out the back where you can sit and eat in the evening. The house is in easy walking distance of Waxahachie, which is a lovely little town.
I would say though, that the trains that run through the town, blaring their horns at night are extremely loud. Even wearing ear plugs and using a white noise machine, we could still hear them. The first night we were there we had been awake for nearly 24 hours travelling, and got such a fright when they woke us several times in the night, as it doesn't mention them on the property listing.
The wifi is also very slow and at times non existent and you really need some blackout curtains in the attic room. Having said all this, we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay.
