"Phenomenal hotel!! From the moment I walked in my room, I knew that this would be preferred choice for my next Chicago area visit. Great staff, especially the restaurant staff!! Beautiful property. Close to everything, including train!! Only cons: If you book through a 3rd party app (Expedia), let them know immediately or wake up to daily charges. Also, the $50 early check in fee... if my room is already ready, I don't understand the fee. Other than that, you'll have no regrets with The GEM of Evanston!!!"

"The location was great, the rooms were comfortable, and the kitchen was spacious. Street parking was easy to find, and the host was very accommodating. We had six people and it fit us perfectly. The only note is that while the listing mentions sleeping accommodations for 10, that seems like a stretch."
