This is the worst hotel I've stayed at in the UK, which I have been living in and travelling around for the last 26 years. The barman who checked me in told me breakfast would be served in the bar from 8am (a faded document in the room said so too) but the next morning no breakfast was served and the bar was locked. A cleaner directed me instead to a fridge on the landing which contained yoghurt pots, a half-eaten bar of chocolate, milk, and there were some packets of cornflakes. I ate a yoghurt, sitting on the narrow, lumpy bed in my shabby room, but gave up on the tea when I realised the milk was off. The shower worked, but there was no shower gel or soap. When I asked for some the next day the barman said "We don't do that." When I complained that the room had not been visited that day by a cleaner he again said "We don't do that." The shabby, cheap furniture and decor have come through a time-warp from a student room of the 1980s. The room smelled stale. So little care had gone into choosing the pictures for the walls that they'd failed to notice the two prints were identical. There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang or put the bath towel except on the toilet seat or over the shower itself. I have tried to think of a worse hotel that I've stayed at, but I'd have to go back to Asia and South America in the 1990s. When I complained the barman shrugged and said that they are closing in a fortnight. They seem to be past caring.

Completely honest review ! for a place to just get your head down for the night then it’s okay but for the condition of the room I think £80 was overpriced even for that . Good points : very friendly staff ,had parking and could check in early tea and coffee in the room and small items you could use free of charge of the landing.had its own side entrance meaning you could come and go whenever without having to walk through the pub. Bad points : smelt of old cigarettes and beer and very run down. Shower was basically in the room with you see pictures so couldn’t not have private shower and the toilet door was a sliding door again not very private . Netting was stained No soap or towel in bathroom We didn’t have breakfast as wanted something more substantial but there was apparently cereals yoghurts toast available. As I said if you literally just need a room for the night then I think it’s fine but if you’re looking for a bit of comfort and luxury spending time in the room or staying for a weekend it would be a no from me

Perfect for our stay

Room was perfect for what we wanted. Close to the beach and local shops. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Plenty of choice for breakfast, fruit, yogurts cereals toast & crumpets with preserves and juice. Lovely friendly staff. Only one negative point is lack of parking on the premises

Staff very helpful and polite and were prompt to check out window in our room which was broken. As window could not be closed, they brought in a convection heater which heated the room instantly. Overall a good overnight stay.
