We had a great stay. My boyfriend had to work for the week while a friend and I explored GNP. In hindsight, we wish we had stayed closer to the park entrance since hiking trails are all 1h+ away from it, but this was a solid place with strong internet for my boyfriend’s many zoom calls and movie streaming.
Some things to note:
- the building is old. Our first night some kids were playing tag and the entire upper floor (kitchen and living) was vibrating, lights flickering. But the bedrooms were well insulated from the noise downstairs!
-Laundry machine is older too- dont overfill!
-Condo staff forgot to give us dishwasher detergent so we had to buy, but it turns out that should have been there for us upon arrival, so worth checking on this if it is missing
-Not sure if it’s due to COVID, but the condo didnt have ANY spices or cooking oils etc like Our usual VRBO experiences. We had to buy everything including salt. Took it all with us since we assumed staff would throw away.
-knives were pretty old and hard to use, could be replaced. That said there were lots of them and so many dishes- really handy for avoiding running the dishwasher daily!
-beds were comfy
-easy access to the small village, but keep in mind that it’s small- be sure to make reservations downtown Whitefish if you want to eat out. We loved the brewery and food at Bonsai
-be careful of the cops setting speed traps down Big Mountain Road!! We saw several cars get pulled over during our time at the place where the limit drops to 35mph
Overall a great spot to stay with friends or definitely would have been fun for a larger group! I loved that my boyfriend had a gorgeous Mountain View while he had to work as we explored the park.
