Nice hotel, friendly staff. Decent breakfast and a good selection of meals for lunch and dinner. Lots of small dining rooms, so if the main two are full, there should be somewhere to eat.
No lift, so rooms on second floor might be an issue for the less agile. Sloping ceilings may also be an issue for some, as you have to duck to get into bed.
Patchy WIFI coverage
Worth the 1/2 hour drive off of the Autobahn to get to Wolfegg. Such a charming hotel with a great cafe nearby for coffee and cake. The dinner at the hotel was very good too. Much more economical than staying in Zurich, which is where we were headed the next day.

Pleasant Country atmosphere
Pleasant would be an apt description for this charming somewhat rustic Hotel. The room was adequate, clean and spacious. The service was friendly and the food at the attached restaurant was fabulous. The last minute price was also a big plus.
DOOOH!!!!
Best price/value in the surrounding area, especially considering you are a 30 minute drive from the Bodensee (Lake Constance). Nice hotel and rooms. I would say it's perfect for an overnight stay. I cannot say whether the staff are comfortable speaking English because I talked with them in basic German and they were polite and patient. English speaking staff outside of the towns/cities in Germany can vary. If in doubt, speak louder, slower and point at things more :-)
A very good sized room with a couch, coffee table and lounge chair making it very comfortable and homely especially with the squeaky floorboards. Smallish bathroom. Had a very enjoyable meal with local fare in the evening and a lovely hot cup of tea with our tasty breakfast. Lovely staff.
Very nice Gasthof in small sweet town with lot of activites. Staff was friendly for human and for dogs as well, the service was only a bit slow. Breakfast was good and the room was clean, large and beds were confortable. In the restaurant we only had Glühwein and dessert, the selfmade pumpkin ice-cream was worth of trying. I would love to stay for a another night too.

English speakers not welcome...
We arrived at this German Gasthaus situated in a beautiful area with lots of things to see (marvelous churches, cloisters and castles). The room we got was a bit worn out but it was of decent size and comfort.
Free high-speed Internet was promised for every guestroom. But (as so often on this extended Europe trip) the Internet was out of order (better: their outdated setup). After several attempts of trying to make them understand that I had to finish and submit an article I finally got to the boss. The staffer I dealt with to that point introduced me as 'the American that drives her nuts' obviously assuming I probably don't understand her anyway.
Long story short: With only miserable phone Internet I finished my article and left the hotel the next morning... short of my planned 3 or 4 day stay.
Btw, if you are in that area and look for a place to eat local specialties this is the Gasthaus to go to.
