Really lovely staff, lovely room and great food. Only point to note is that the accomodation is above the pub, so if you go to bed early this may not be the place for you as some of the bar sounds can be heard until closing time.

We found The Swan at Hanley extremely nice, a very lovely character pub with a good warm atmosphere. We had eaten there before so knew what to expect, but this was the first time we had stayed overnight, and will certainty stay again.. it is very clean and comfortable.

Overall a great place and the owner has done a great job. Staff were very friendly. Evening meal reasonable but not anything special. It's a shame they let themselves down with minor things. The owner should really say hello to the guests but never did. Vacuuming outside my room at 6:50am is ridiculous. I needed a quick breakfast and ordered a few items with no cooked breakfast but they couldn't bring my toast after waiting an age so I had to abandon it! As a guest you couldn't actually get into the main building before 8am, another poor situation
