"Amazing hotel with the best staff possible. Aircon worked well on a very hot day. Superb room & very well furnished. Reception, bar and breakfast staff brilliant. Breakfast excellent & cooked to order. Fabulous historic building with a "feel free to roam" approach from the friendly, professional staff."

"At check-in I was told we had a groud floor room in the annexe. I was initially disappointed as I would never book an annexe room, however it was amazing. The room I booked was a junior suite and it was quite spacious with patio doors leading into a private garden for hotel guests which had an excellent view of the river. There was a pedestal fan in the room which was a blessing as we were there in the heatwave. There was plenty of drawer space and a small wardrobe. I would be very wary of the coffee tables as they were made of what looked like bamboo so the surface wasn’t very reliable to hold your coffee cup. The chest of drawers had one handle missing and one of the hooks behind the bathroom door had been broken and hadn’t been repaired. We arrived early so our room wasn’t ready, so we sat I the beer garden and had a snack. Although you couldn’t really call it a snack as the baguettes were quite large. Breakfast was freshly cooked and was of good standard. Overall we had an excellent stay and I hope we get the opportunity to stay there in the future."

"It was a great stay, the spa area was in particular amazing, the concertina doors were open to the pool and the outside area ws great to relax. Great food in the bar and lovely staff overall. Will definitely stay again."

"Lovely old inn. Comfortable and civilised. Friendly staff. Evening meal in restaurant with inglenook fireplace very good as were the breakfasts. Rooms are spacious with quality furnishings. Towels excellent and nice to have fresh milk supplied in the mini fridge. Lovely beer garden in lovely rural setting. Recommended!"

"Overall a great place and the owner has done a great job. Staff were very friendly. Evening meal reasonable but not anything special. It's a shame they let themselves down with minor things. The owner should really say hello to the guests but never did. Vacuuming outside my room at 6:50am is ridiculous. I needed a quick breakfast and ordered a few items with no cooked breakfast but they couldn't bring my toast after waiting an age so I had to abandon it! As a guest you couldn't actually get into the main building before 8am, another poor situation"
