Family reunion

Fantastic property for our family reunion. Great historic home that was easy to settle into. Warm and cosy rooms with great bed linens and towels provided. Would highly recommend to other groups

Wonderful house.

The house had plenty of space for our family to be together. We loved the croquet and other outdoor games. The house was clean and kitchen well kitted out. The only thing was the bbq was broken which was a shame. Fab outside space. Very interesting property with all its history.

Family weekend away

Amazing house in a beautiful location. Loads of rooms and space for everyone to spread out. The kids loved the table tennis and trampoline.

Great space for a girls group

We had a lovely time. Location is great for walking with some nice pubs to eat close by. House has everything you could need. Views are gorgeous from bedrooms and the terrace. Great stay for a friends 50th birthday. Thank you.

A birthday to remember...

Fantastic stay with friends and family. Maze of a house! Need a week to even look at all the curiosities! Shame the weather couldn't have been kinder, but plenty to do in the house!

New Year Trip

Beautiful old property plenty of room for the thirteen of us, great location. Grounds fantastic. Does need a bit of TLC i.e. plumbing and windows. Friendly and helpful member of the family welcomed us and was on hand to assist with any issues. We loved our stay.

Brilliant house and location

Property worked really well for family and friends get together, with ages ranging from 20 months to 70 years, we all loved it. Everything we needed including great outdoor space. Also plenty of places nearby to visit suitable for all ages. Host was very welcoming and helpful. Meals we ordered from them were excellent. We had a very good meal at The Boat at Erbistock and good food from Overton fish and chip shop.

Beautiful country house

We had a lovely time in this beautiful house - there was plenty of living space for the whole group to spread out and we loved having a big group dinner in the grand dining room. The house is old and some niggles are to be expected (minor cobwebs, loose doorknobs, a couple of chipped mugs) and they definitely didn't take away from our love for the place (and shouldn't deter anyone else!).

Weekend away with friends and kids

Wonderful stay at this amazing property. Full of history and quirkiness and lots of wonder and recreation for our kids (4 to 10). We were blessed with weather and made the most of games on the huge garden area, bbq on the sun trap patio, and walk through the woodland to swim in the river. Host was fabulous and made the admin side a breeze. Would definitely return in the future.

Home from home

A beautiful 'lived-in' and quirky old house that made us all feel at home. Wonderful gardens and views. Great to share meals (prepared in the lovely spacious kitchen) around the long dining room table - made us feel like nobility. So many rooms - that we often 'lost' the kids. Weather was great so we were able to walk down to the river and go swimming. So close to the village and playground - but secluded and set back from the road.

Family Break

Amazing property, full of history, quirky and lots to explore. We were a family of 8 so we had plenty of space (inside and out). Kitchen well equipped for cooking meals (although some of the mugs and glasses were chipped so should be replaced) and the dining room was very grand and a lovely space to sit and enjoy them. Grounds fabulous and we enjoyed our walk down to the river. A lovely weekend enjoyed by us all and we hope to come and visit again.

Lovely property

Very nice house, but definitely quirky! It has a lot of personality in a beautiful setting. We had a wonderful weekend, though didn't find the outdoor games in the large chest by the door until the final day. Downsides - lots of cobwebs, a bit cluttered and the lights kept tripping in a couple of rooms.

We stayed in this beautiful house for a weekend with three generations of family members. The house more than met our expectations, with enough room for all of us to have our own space, including teenagers. The house itself is lovely, with wonderful views of the river Dee. Charlotte met us on arrival and was fantastic and responsive to questions through our stay, but without being at all intrusive. Would highly recommend

Excellent family stay

Perfect stay for our whole family ages 2-85! Plus dog! The host was very warm and welcoming. We stayed at the house end of December and we really enjoyed having the cosy fire places and plenty of seating for all of us, whether we were enjoying a board game, glass of wine or a meal around the huge dining room table. The kitchen was well equipped with all the necessary utensils and crockery. The garden surrounding the house was very spacious and it was really nice to wonder out for a country walk along the river Dee straight from the house. We would 100% recommend this house and will be back again in the future.

Extra-mile hosting

We really enjoyed our recent stay at The Brow. We felt welcomed and accommodated before we even arrived and nothing was too much trouble when we were there. It's a very characterful house and felt like a bit of an adventure with all of the different rooms and quirky things to find. There are a few dusty corners here and there, but it's all part of the charm if you're laid back like we are. We would recommend the catering supplied by Charlotte and the party buffet from the local cafe, as well as the village fish and chip shop and butchers. All in all, we loved it so thank you for having us.

Great location and stunning views

This house is in a fabulous location with beautiful views and plenty of walks/tourist attractions to see and do in the area. The house is large and we had some lovely meals sat around the huge dining table, laughing and chatting and great fun was had in the cellar playing table tennis. The problems we encountered were highlighted to the owner and hopefully rectified-one of the beds was incredibly uncomfortable as the springs had gone and in these covid times the house was in desperate need of a good clean (mattresses could do with a vacuum, pillows need cleaning, bins emptying). Once those issues are sorted, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the property.

Large and cosy, well stocked.

The property had everything imaginable for a comfortable stay. The walks to the river were wonderful and the outdoor space was excellent, thankfully we had glorious weather throughout our stay. the space, the showers the beds, and the overall level of the property is comfortable, very much like staying at a relative's home as personal items are not removed. Just one neg, check in and check out, very late check-in, and check-out at 10 am on the final day, make sure all your group and items are ready to leave on time as they do come on the dot, which quite honestly, during my years of travel, I never experienced this before, they are literally hovering whilst you are there gathering all belongings. So our Monday - Friday stay, did feel more like a 3-day affair.
