Great stay lovely pub the bonus was it had it’s own car park, nice quirky rooms a bit dated but it’s an old pub nice big shower, staff very friendly, I was really looking forward to breakfast as I’d read the reviews but sadly it was really undercooked both the bacon & sausage hence the 4 stars but apart from that great stay.

Staff great, parking great, very close to the city walls and Barbican. We ate in the pub one night, both had pie and it was huge. Breakfast great. If you want an old school pub stay experience, in York, you can't go far wrong. If I had a small gripe the bed wasn't amazing in our room but that said we'd happily stay again for everything else the hotel has to offer

Stayed in room 4. Lovely roomy bedroom and en-suite equipped with bath. Shower section had mould but not enough to worry us. Noise from the pub below and the road outside but only to be expected.
Lovely breakfasts both days and the evening meals were lovely. Beautiful Shepherds Pie and a massive piece of Gammon. Highly recommended.
