Caqalai Island Beach Holidays

Staff was AMAZING, especially Simeli, Mereoni from Activities and Maggy at reception. You can learn so much about Fijian culture with the Fire Walkers, trip to the village, Kava ceremony, etc. The beach was beautiful and the rooms fantastic. The food was delicious and the hospitality of everyone went far and beyond. Vinaka!

The bar staff and pool excellent for a cool dip. Very helpful and friendly staff for meals and room service. We found it to be a great a great family getaway. The grounds were well kept and maintained, with alot of fun to be had. A few drinks and a great game of golf. Walked up the beach to find white coral sand beaches with great snorkeling in the reef. Very safe

Awesome and secluded location, very welcoming and friendly staff, the cruises offered were very good. We had a great time as non scuba divers by way of swimming and snorkeling etc. Great menu and the Thursday night performance and local food was a nice touch. If you are mobility impaired not the ideal location as very steep access to majority of rooms. Staff did provide golfcart buggy transport on request. Beds weren’t comfortable.

Our second time back. Love it and always have the best time. Will be back again.

Overall, a very pleasant experience staying at Novotel. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, even offering late check out, uninitiated by me, at no extra cost. I would definitely pay the extra for the second floor rooms (deluxe room and above). The increase in price is relatively minor, and the privacy and views from your balcony is well worth it. I would be wary of the restaurant, however. I ordered pasta that had a broken, oily sauce, and a creme brulee that was obviously baked and not actually brulee (no crispy sugar crust which is, let's be honest, at least 50 percent of that dish), and the custard was lumpy. That being said, I was genuinely pleased with my experience and, if I ever end up in Fiji again, this will be my go-to hotel choice (I'll just order delivery from another establishment). Pros: Excellent, friendly service. Lovely view. Very quiet and serene. Nice pool and lounging decks Beautiful lobby, bar, and restraunt. Cons: Generally clean, but I did see a dead cockroach in the hallway that was there for both nights and all three of my days at the hotel. Makes me a bit concerned about general cleanliness. There were a couple of broken things in the room, but nothing I couldn't live with. The food is suspect. I wouldn't order anything beyond basic sandwiches and such.

For the self contained couple who want a positive adjunct to their life, this was perfect. The staff are 10/10.

Good view, Staff is very friendly

The all inclusive food was limited. There was not much to choose from and most items were not available. All drinks including soft drinks were additional. The room was clean and well air conditioned. The ferry ride was quick yet very pricey.
