Nice hotel & staff but be weary they take a $200 deposit when checking in. Said it would be returned on check out yet I’ve been waiting over 6 days now. Chased cc company who said it’s on hold for 30 days so it takes 30 days before you get your deposit back. The hotel doesn’t cancel the deposit they just don’t claim it so sits pending for 1 month.
Also if sharing beware there is no lock on bathroom and has a sliding door that tends to slide open on its own

PROS:
• If you don't mind a fifteen or so minute walk across the bridge to Queens and the subway, the location is an amazing NYC hidden secret—only a couple of stops and you're in midtown Manhattan
• Lovely views from the roof bar at night
• Funky decor, fun, artsy vibe
• Clean, comfortable, modern rooms
CONS:
• Attached bar/restaurant has unreliable hours—our flight arrived late so we were famished and ready for a meal, the restaurant was supposed to be open but closed instead, then we discovered many of the walkable neighborhood eateries are closed by 10pm
• Rooftop "rules" were unclear—we almost got locked/trapped on the roof all night as we were sitting out of sight of the staff and they locked the door back to the elevator
