Tempate District Kid friendly Holidays

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Papagayo Golden Palms and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica. The property was extremely clean and very well maintained, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Everyone was fantastic — from housekeeping to the restaurant staff and chef — and you could truly feel how much they cared about the guests’ experience. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The grounds are beautiful, lush, and tropical, creating such a peaceful atmosphere. The pool area is amazing, and the beach is just steps away and perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. One thing that really helped us was renting a car. It made exploring the surrounding areas, beaches, restaurants, and local attractions much easier and allowed us to see more of this beautiful part of Costa Rica. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you to everyone at Papagayo Golden Palms for such a memorable vacation!

Great location! But apart from the location, the experience of the hotel doesn’t match the premium price it charges. We don’t recommend it and won’t go back.

Like- friendly and helpful staff, nice grounds. Premium liquor but you HAVE to ask for it Food was ok normal all inclusive like. Great pools! Shows and entertainment staff were great! Dislikes- very dated property. For paying the premium price I would expect it to updated. Rooms were old including furniture decor. We visited the non palace RIU next door and it was way ! Younger vibe though. There were no activities or anything to do at night. There was only one pool table between the two hotels and that was not at the palace. The palace”s sports bar was was literally two tvs and some lounge chairs. No activities and no bar inside it. They hotel could use more activities to do Unhappy - the RIU parties were temporarily closed the entire time we were there. That was very disappointing as it is part of the reason we stayed there and we were not informed of it being closed. Also they advertise that you can connect with the internet in their tvs to stream services. Our tv did not allow that. We were told that some of the tvs allow streaming and some do not. We were told we had to”cable like” channels but they were all in Spanish. It should definitely be stated that not all rooms allow streaming. There reallly were no extras at this hotel and it was not worth the premium price Overall it’s a nice hotel but I have stayed at numerous RIUs and this one was my least favorite. I would not have chosen to pay the extra for the Palace.

The property and villas were stunning! Staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. Everyone knew us by name! Loved having breakfast included with many delicious options. Having a stand alone villa was a treat. No noisy neighbors! We spent a couple mornings at the main pool and usually ended up in our plunge pool in the afternoons. The views from everywhere are amazing! Although we loved our Sunset Villa, it was warm in the late afternoon when trying to get ready for dinner. No way to block out the sun in the bathroom. The town of Las Catalinas was a bit of a let down. Maybe because we were there off season but other than a few restaurants, there wasn't anything going on. No shops or entertainment. Pretty beach but no place to rent beach chairs and make a day of it. The only excursion we did was a coffee/chocolate tour at Tio Leo Coffee. Highly recommend! It was about 1 hour away. Very relaxing trip, which is what we were looking for. Casa Chameleon made us feel very special.

Very family friend, there is only one restaurant but the food is really good. Pool area very nice, and kids friendly. Staff very friendly. Room very clean.

we initially didn’t like our room as it was near the elevator however Carlos and Gustav changed it for us and we loved it! so so so beautiful room and very quiet and amazing location!!

Amazing resort! Staff was super attentive, friendly and really went out of their way to make a memorable trip! The restaurants were all exceptional too.
