Price was reasonable. Rooms don't get cleaned unless one schedules a cleaning for next day. Room dark but bed was comfortable. Location was excellent. Food good in the restaurant.

Good location and very convenient. Staff were polite and helpful. Property needs more updating as it is an old building. Everything good but it's the little details like the safe did not work, some power outlets did not work, parking is not free, or the breakfast voucher is meaningless when you consider all the food choices available nearby. I would still repeat as it is a good value for money. Only this time I know what I am getting.

The rooms are beautiful. The hotel is in a great location with walking to the River District and Lakeshore Drive. The clerk took 4 people ahead of me even though I was the first in line. She forgot to give me a parking validation ticket which made the process of leaving the lot difficult. The rest of the staff was great. You must reserve way ahead of time if you want to eat on-sight. The hall was noisy past 11 pm.

Room was so outdated. It does not look like the photos. Gross. Machine washed curtains sunken in couch, art with a dollar store frame. Had to put tea por on floor to use. No outlets except behind large pieces of furniture. Very deceiving obce you enter the room. Sheers overlooking bed at night would not shut completely. Exposed to tall condos.

The property is conveniently located. There were some minor cosmetic needs in the room (loose wallpaper, chipped paint in bathroom, etc). Staff were friendly. We had no issues during our stay.

It is a great classic-age hotel, but unfortunately, because of this very reason, it is very “loud”—do not plan to fall asleep until after midnight: slamming doors, the elevator, conversations from other rooms, street noise will keep you awake. With that said, the staff is great and the food comp. was convenient for bfast. Location is great!

First time in Chicago and probably saw just one member who was happy and making an effort to connect with the guests. Everyone else at the property appeared sad and not enthusiastic to see people staying at their property. This was even at the checkout time. No one asked for satisfaction. The property itself was really nice but some fixtures need upgrading. Loved the experience of staying at the property though. Great location.

I enjoyed this place. It was prettt decent and in a convenient location and walkable to shops and restaurants. Felicia was really nice and helped tremendously regarding making recommendations for activities. The place is a little older because it’s a historical building so the rooms aren’t that sound proof but still a great stay.

The staff were great. Only one person at the desk made for a long wait. The room had water damage and structural damage in the bathroom and furniture. It was poor quality for the money spent.

This was my 4th stay at The WhiteHall and the first time my VIP status wasn’t recognized. I even requested (in special instructions) a room on a high floor overlooking the Water Tower but i received neither this time. Kinda disappointing but we survived. That’s the only reason for 4 stars versus 5 stars per usual.

I appreciated the fast check-in. I received a link via a text or email, and I was able to take a picture of my identification. What I did not enjoy was that the shower nozzle broke off when I was about to take a shower for dinner. I had to go to dinner without showering because the engineer had to go find a new part. We returned from dinner hoping the engineer would be able to come back to replace the part but no one was available at 11pm so we had to change rooms. They only good part was that they moved us to a much bigger room. However, I was hoping we could do a late check-out as it was mentioned during check-in. They said that because I was a gold member with Expedia, I could take advantage of the benefit free of charge, but when I actually asked for it they rejected it.

It’s a really beautiful space, absolutely fabulous decor inside the rooms. Gorgeous. I would give it more stars easily, if not for a couple appliances that didn’t work, touchy lighting and a stubborn toilet. Staff was polite when seen. Nice and quiet, just really wish the room fridge was functional as I had a multi night stay for work and a special diet.
