「We arrived after sundown and were greeted with a blanket of stars over the property. Our cottage was beautiful and the sounds of nature made falling asleep incredibly easy. We woke up to an incredible view and the sounds of the farm to start our day right. Then we had some of the homegrown coffee and couldn't be happier we got to stay here.」

「Our stay at the small rustic farmhouse was peaceful and very pleasant. There is an ocean view from the back deck and even colored clouds and rainbows. We met some goats that lived next door and some neighbors walking their horses up the road. The songs of the birds, frogs and roosters was a delight during the evening and daytime. We bought some fresh eggs from the hosts that was so convenient and yummy. The bed is so comfy, and the location is a great central point to start from for adventuring...

「My family including 3 small children stayed here. It was such an amazing property. The view of the waterfall was spectacular, and the kids loved playing in it. Many things to do in the area that were within a 30 minute drive. Would definitely stay again.」

「We were delighted with Honoka'a and enjoyed an evening at a ranch west of Waimea, day trips to Kona, Hilo, a tropical garden, Hilo Farmer's market, and Captain Cook monument (for two of us hikers). The accommodations were great for 6 adults. Also enjoyed the oranges off the tree in the backyard.」

「My husband, five year old and I stayed here for 3 days. We really enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful open floor plan, artistic decor with big slider windows leading out to the patio. At night there was a wonderful cross breeze and sounds of geckos and coqui frogs floating on that breeze. It was in a convenient spot, not directly in town but close enough to go out for food, drinks, beaches, etc. The owners were kind and quiet. Their dog was such a sweetheart, our daughter loved the encounters...

「This is a great place to stay to get away from it all! Close enough to Hilo to get back into the all of you want. We also wound up driving north around the island to the west side a bit more than towards Hilo. Just sitting on the porch and looking out at the sky & ocean was so peaceful. Wish we had better weather. Got 1.5 sunrises and one night starry sky out of 7 nights but, that was only the fault of Mother Nature. Still so peaceful in the rain. The cottage itself is fine for two people, tho...

「Dale’s Vintage Farmhouse was just perfect. We stayed 8 days, using the farmhouse as our home base while we enjoyed the island. Our last day we rested at the farmhouse, just savoring the sights and sounds. Fresh squeezed oj, coquis chirping, gentle breezes blowing. We will truly miss this place.」

If you want a home away from the tourists you are right. Awaiting luxury and quietness, go in a hotel. It’s a normal neighborhood with chicken, dogs and everything else. We enjoyed it here, directly on the Hamakua coast line. Thanks for all, Dannie!」

「She was a great host with a lot of great recommendations around Hilo! Nice and spacious bedroom, living quarters, and she has a great property as well; you will thoroughly enjoy this place if you like farm animals, and pretty vegetation! 」

「My husband and I so enjoyed our stay in the Pineapple Cottage at Hulili Farm. While the location made sight-seeing around the island easy, we often opted to stay in and enjoy the sound of the rain on the roof and the sway of the hanging bed on the lanai. We hope to come back again soon!」

「We loved this place so much! Thoughtful furnishings, a very nice house, but best of all is the location! We saw whales, stars, goats, wild pigs, sunrises, ships and barges, beautiful waves, and fruit trees. It was peaceful and quiet—away from all the people and bustle. But a quick trip to Hilo and other small towns with amenities. Perfect location to go to Volcanoes or just anywhere on the island.」
