“It was a decent stay. The hotel is in need of an upgrade, and is showing its age. The price is good and you get what you pay for. The room was clean enough for a 1-night stay as I was just passing through town. The hotel is near 2 bbq places so you can walk to lunch / dinner. ”

“We stayed for two nights to attend a local race. The front desk clerk, who was very nice, changed our room to a 2nd floor corner room, which he said was one of the finest he had. The room was huge, but sparsely furnished. There was also no maid service after our first night, which was really no big deal, but it would have been nice to have a small cafe table and a couple chairs. However, the traffic noise could be heard all night long, even in our room which was perhaps the farthest from the……

“Exactly what we hoped for. Wish we would have had more time than 2 nights. Did some fishing off the dock, enjoyed the peacefulness of the yard and the lake. Driveway is very steep but we knew this ahead of time so no issues.”

“House was not clean - spider webs and wasps throughout. Kitchen cabinets were dirty. Door knobs didn’t work. Boards on deck need replacing.”

“We had not all been together for almost 6 yrs and Solitude on Lay Lake was the ideal place for us to spend time together, share and make memories. The home both indoor and outdoor was set up with many places to hang out, float in lake, go boating, play corn hole or play pool or just lounge on porch swings or at fire pit - we had a great time - Thank you, Solitude!”

“We had a great time with 3 kids, age 8-12. They were able to kayak and fish in the cove safely. Internet/tv was very limited/spotty at times. You will need to drive 20-30 minutes for most groceries/restaurants.”

“House was beautiful. High quality all the way; mattresses, kitchen appliances, furniture. Nice playroom with toys. Game room was wonderful. Only drawback was access to water; lots of steps. Hard (or impossible) for older people and small children to get down to dock.”

“This home has a very relaxing atmosphere. It had comfortable beds and was clean. The lake was beautiful and a great spot to fish, kayak and swim. We had a wonderful time with our family here. We will definitely stay here again in the future.”

“This house was an amazing jewel to stay at! Fantastic location off the lake and close to Alabaster with an easy commute. Our group loved sitting by the fire each night and the amount of seating is perfect for a large group. We had a maintenance issue during our stay and the housekeeper came out immediately to assist. Great communication from owner.”
