"We were in transit to go to Kyushu the next day very early in the morning. We checked into this place late at night. We shared one room with four people. So basically we slept on futon Matts. But it was clean n no issues except shared bathroom required some waiting time. Other than that we were comfortable. "

"We stayed in a 4-beds room, all furniture is in good condition. The setting is same as shown. The room has some spaces to open up 2 large suitcases. The washroom and shower room are separate, and towels are provided. I will suggest to add some hooks in the shower room for handing the towels."

"This was a great place to stay. Some of the staff spoke English very well. The only downside to it was the restroom. The toilet was so close to the wall that my knees were pressed against the wall when in the sitting position. As for standing they have a urinal downstairs. "

However, if you are looking for an excellent place to stay with gracious hosts and family, then this is a perfect spot in Tanabe. We stayed here on 10/24-25 to hike Kumano Kodo trail. Koushi and Chiyoko were extremely gracious hosts and treated us like family while we were there. They went "beyond the call of duty" to help us in finding a lost jacket left on the train and they made sure we were safe all along the way. ...
