Bedford is a large area, eateries are very spread out, but if you know what you want and where to go, transport links are good

Bedford resembles a northern town prior to regeneration. The town centre revolves around the bus station and its complex of 1960s architecture, a bit like Stockport. Groups of unsavoury looking characters hang around the town corners and alleys.
