"Sheets had cigarette burn holes, missing light switches, stained walls, dirty floors, furniture had not been dusted in years. Overflowing garbage outside. This was the nastiest place i have ever stayed in."

"The location and entrance was a pleasant surprise. Clean, plenty of kitchen and bathroom items, and owner was very quick to respond to questions. Check out the Allabaster bat caves and head into the cute town of Alva for shopping and food. Grocery is very close."

"Everything was great and the place is just as pictured. The massage chair was a big hit and the kids loved the air hockey table. The outdoor kitchen area was set up well and enjoyable to cook on. There are multiple spaces to gather inside and out which was ideal for our large group of friends and family."

"We had a wonderful stay. Everything was clean and kitchen was well stocked. Nice lake views and we loved the screened in porch. Although bugs weren’t an issue while we were there because of the time of year, the screened in area was nice and probably even better when the temps are warmer. We also loved being able to bring our dogs! Thanks for a great stay!!"

"The property is nice and clean. Nice outdoor space. Comfortable beds and bathroom floors heated. The only negatives- Very little light in the living room and 6 people had to use one bathroom. (and that is with only 8 people staying) If you had it totally full the bathroom would be really packed."

"Our family gathering picked this property (and location) to view the Total Solar Eclipse in April 2024. This was the perfect size for our party of 13! The hosts were very reaponsive to pre-checkin questions and to the 2 issues that arose after we checked in. 5-stars for this property and hosts!"

"This is a great property. We stayed here for a competition and it worked perfectly for us but it would even be better for a vacation or reunion. The house is spacious and has all the amenities you would want and is located in a beautiful spot right next to the river. The communication and assistance are spot on as well. "Bear Mountain ranch is undoubtedly the best lake house you get within 3 hours of travel from Dallas. The place is serene with Lake view and access to kayaking, the house is well planned with lot of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate large groups and families, kitchen has the best in class features and lot recreation options.
