The tiny town of Gjógv is the most northern village on the island of Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands. Its name actually just means "gorge," and there is indeed a nice little gorge here leading out to the sea. Gjógv also has a guesthouse and some nice hiking trails, and is only about an hour's drive from Torshavn.
The Faroe Islands are home to massive gannet and puffin colonies. Most travelers hike up cliffs or take boat tours to observe these birds. We had a chance encounter with puffins up on Ambadalur Valley in Gjógv. Read about four amazing hikes in Faroe Islands through the #linkinbio 👆🏽
