「At check in we were greeted and walked to our room. We were a little early for our reservation and we were allowed right in. Owner showed us around and was incredibly friendly. Other visitors told us some great hiking locations to check out. Continental breakfast laid out nicely. Beautiful view of Mourne Mountains. 」

「Very comfortable stay. Room was clean and well equipped with great en-suite bathroom. Cooked breakfast was tasty and good breakfast selections. Enjoyed lunch in restaurant before going home. Great selections on menu and well cooked. Great roast dinner options on Sunday too. 」

「Probably the cleanest room I’ve stayed in.great view over the beach and sea front.The only negative would be the lighting in the en-suite it could have been brighter」

「We only booked one night as we didn’t know how long we needed to stay due to a family situation. The hotel kept our room open whether we used it or not and only charge for the days we are here at discounted rates. All staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and hugely empathetic. 」

「The host greeted us upon arrival and based on remoteness and outside appearance were not expecting much. That’s when Buttons the ‘doodle’ four legged greeter came up and really welcomed us! WHAT A SWEETIE. Our rooms were perfect. Spacious, comfy and beautiful. Our host also provided breakfast supplies for us. Wish the nearby bar and restaurant were open but after a long day it didn’t matter much. A hidden gem!」

「Just a lovely spot, 5 minutes driving from town and the shore in Newcastle, 15 or so to some great hiking trails. Grounds are very nice and there’s a gentle climb down to the river, a beautiful spot on the patio to sit out for a drink or morning coffee — and the breakfast was excellent as well (I had to go for the Ulster Fry (similar to the Full English) both mornings.
