“Lunheim is a great place to stay, and Ian is very knowledgeable and helpful on all things local. The kitchen for guests is excellent, and with great views, although we were a bit surprised to be charged a cleaning fee for using it, even though left spotless, as I don’t recall this being mentioned on Expedia. That said, we enjoyed our stay and our talks with Ian and were very happy that we stayed at Lunheim.”

“This is an absolutely stunning B&B down to every detail. The owners and staff were helpful and it’s a perfect location if you want to take the ferry to the Urnes Stave Church(the oldest of the remaining Stave churches) which is beautiful and well worth the trip. Breakfast was great too. The downsides are: 1) sharing bathrooms; 2) tiny rooms; and 3) no close restaurants for dinner so eat first in the neighboring town.”

“Such an historic beautiful old hotel in Solvorn, Norway for our last stay before leaving the country. We just so happened to arrive the evening of the biggest storm in the last 25 years and our room was right in front of the ferry/dock to see all the action. As we arrived later in the day we were too exhausted to dine there so they brought us nice sandwiches and champagne upon arrival too.”

“Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!”

“The cabin is great and quiet w/ a great view on the surrounding mountains (hence the “good” overall score). However a few points of disappointment which need to be improved: 1- We met 2 staff members and both barely spoke English, although the check-in instructions (Dan Center) said that staff can speak Norwegian, English and German.
