“Location was good. Check in process was easy. The beds were comfortable. I don’t prefer to degrade but I also want to be honest though. The room was falling apart. There is obvious water damage. Drywall was falling off walls and ceilings. Several old patches. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling. The bed and bathroom were mostly clean, but the carpet was full of hair and probably hadn’t been cleaned in a while. There were several spider webs on the walls and stains on part of the comforters.……

“We were a couple traveling from the United States, both in our later 50s. We ended up not staying in the room. After having to bring our four suitcases up two flights of stairs, our room was incredibly hot. When we opened the windows to try to cool things off, we were met by several flies and other insects. The lodging is on a very busy street in Elgin. The room itself was very nice and clean, so for a solo traveler, or perhaps anyone younger than us, this may have been the perfect stay. It had……

“Talk about a 'Tardis' house! This place has an uninspiring frontage to it. It looks normal, nothing spectacular. However, on arriving at the front door, the quality starts to become obvious. Once inside, here is the most amazing, awe-inspiring, breath-taking home. The woodwork, the underfloor central heating, the wooden floor, decorative rugs, the kitchen, dining room to die for, living room, all shape up to show the beauty of this property. “We have just had a lovely week staying at Easter Duthil. The cottage is newly renovated and has been done beautifully providing a cosy and comfortable place to stay in the fantastic surroundings of the Spey Valley. It was perfect for our children (3 years and 11 months) as had been childproofed well and they could race around safely. “Amazing house in the woods/farms of Grantown on Spey. We really enjoyed our time at this house. It was our base of operations for a week long stay in the Highlands. Laundry includes a tumble dryer which was a major bonus. Kitchen and bedrooms were all spacious and well organized. Beds were comfy and we enjoyed the sounds of sheep in the neighboring pasture. The sitting rooms fire place was absolutely fantastic after days of hiking in the rain. Best place we stayed in Scotland, bar none.”
