“What a gorgeous, hidden gem in the village of koutouloufari. We have been visiting the villages for many years and this has been our favourite place to stay. Sandika is the closest you will get to a villa in or even near to koutouloufari without paying villa prices. We stayed in apartment 8 which was spacious and beautifully clean. There was wine, cake, honey, coffee in the apartment on arrival and all free to use. We have stayed in some expensive accommodation in Crete and never had a welcome……

“La facilité pour prendre possession de la chambre avec des horaires pour la réception très larges est bien appréciable. L'accueil est très agréable et le cadre bucolique. Rien ne laisse penser de l'extérieur que l'allée principale débouche sur une architecture aussi agréable à l'oeil et autant de fleurs. Il y a des bougainvilliers partout. La piscine est très propre et jamais surfréquentée. L'endroit est familial et reposant malgré quelques avions qui passent au dessus. Nous avons été surclassés……

“Very responsive host and the remarkably clean and organized hotel room with secured/easy access was conveniently located in the city center near the Herakleion port. Restaurants and shopping district within walking distance. The host guided me through greatly with finding a parking spot which I appreciate very much. “The hotel is just a short walk from the port and it’s about 7 min away from Lion Square. The sound proof is amazing considering it’s on a main street and very close to the airport. Dimitri made some very good recommendations on restaurants - all of our meals have been amazing in Heraklion. The only recommendation I made is to replenish bottled water every day, rather than just giving 2 small bottles for the whole say. But all in all, good value for money and great hospitality! ”

"We had a great stay at Creta Maris Resort. The all inclusive setup makes it super relaxing – you don’t have to think about anything and can fully unwind. Most staff were friendly and helpful, except for one or two at Enomy Restaurant whose English made communication tricky, and the luggage staff who seemed a bit indifferent. Food-wise, I recommend booking the à la carte restaurants. Buffets offer variety but are average in quality. Enomy has more choices than Estia. We tried Alatsi – excellent service, amazing sea view, food slightly salty, but the crème brûlée was a highlight. Desserts overall are large and satisfying. Pool bar snacks weren’t great, but drinks and cocktails were excellent – perfect for sunny poolside moments. Our room had a partial sea view and the resort is beautiful, with lots of photo spots. There’s a private beach, plenty of pools, and activities you can book easily through their app. I suggest staying at least 3 days. With 4 or 5 nights, you can also explore the town. Overall, it’s not super luxury, but it’s a great fit for families and covers a wide range of needs. Recommended."
