Very scruffy hotel, and VERY noisy, fighting dogs, traffic, shouting in the street, etc. Staff friendly, but even the best room not up to a reasonable western standard.

Gutes Hotel in zentraler Lage.
Das volga ist ein zentral gelegenes in die jahre gekommenes hotel. Der service ist gut , die rezeption bemüht sich um alles, die sauberkeit ist ebenfalls gut und jeden morgen wird die zeitung unter der zimmertür durchgeschoben . Toll ist die zentrale lage 5 fussminuten min zum markt, 10 zum haupthindu tempel etc. Sicherlich blättert im volga an manchen stellen die farbe und die ausstattung ist älter aber es lohnt sich hier zu wohnen.

Filthy rooms. Zero cleanliness. Find another hotel
The dirtiest and the most shabbily maintained hotel ever stayed at. Very crappily maintained hotel. It is situated in a dingy place in a tiny road. The check-in was ok and the person at the front desk was nice. The people in the hotel were helpful. But the condition of the hotel is pathetic. Book this hotel if you don't care about cleanliness.
The beds are in an almost rotten condition. The sink, tap, toilet - everything in the bathroom looked utterly dirty and filthy. The air conditioner hardly worked. The room stank. The window to the room faced a wall of an adjacent building with pipes, dirt, and trash. All through the night we were disturbed by water flowing down through the pipes, cats howling and things falling through the space between walls. Everything in the room looked it was coming apart. The rooms are very very small.
Worst part - we had asked for an extra bed. The extra bed we asked for was put on the floor saying that's the policy in all of Ahmedabad, including in 5 star hotels. Who are they kidding. They couldn't even provide a folding cot. Felt extremely let down with this level of service. Stayed just a few hours and checked out early in the morning.
It is shameful that Hotels.com even lists this hotel on its site.

Service And Room View
Firstly the hotel was nothing like the pictures on Expedia, the bathroom was dirty, the paint on the room walls were all moulded, and the staff just bargeinto the room without you permission. Also the front desk does not change any foreign monies, and the Wifi is only limited for a few hours, however I will give the food a thumbs up, and it's a good place to crash for one night.
