"What an incredible place. From the moment we walked in, we were in love with it. The position is super- quiet and remote but not too far away from life:) The food was all wonderful. Breakfast can be served on the beach too and everything is delicious. We never ate lunches as we were still full from bfast, but then there was always afternoon tea in the garden at the beach for all guests. Dinner can be in the room/reataurant or on the beach. Just wonderful. The beach is clean, calm and tropical. Great snorkeling just off the beach area and also super easy access to the Gillis for a morning or day trip. The facilities are all in perfect condition and the staff are so attentive and friendly. It was a dream to stay there. It’s luxury but also a bit understated in a beautiful way. Its really so special and I highly recommend it. "

"This was by far the worst hotel I stayed in the 30 years. I stayed in a lot of budget hotels. Did not care much about the amenities but the cleanless of the hotel. This hotel was not a budget hotel, the price of the room was totally out of scale with the facilities. I am sure some 20 years ago this was a nice place, but in the last 20 years they have not done anything to the hotel. It is run down. The coffee shop/kitchen that serves the hotel and next to hotel is a health hazard. I tried not to eat anything at the hotel, and having seen where the staff stored ice cubes and how they handle them, I would not dare to drink anything iced. The staff was nice and this is not a surprise, everyone we encountered at the island was extremly polite and helpful. I would give staff 5 stars if the hotel was not in the condition it was. When we checked in, the sink was clogged for example. Outside the hotel : The hotel is in the nicest place for snorkeling. Right before the hotel is the best snorkeling location. I will give the location 5 stars. I will also file a complain with expedia for misrepresenting the place. I never write a review but this hotel was misrepresented on expedia and definitely a health hazard. The room we stayed was classified as a suite and the price was that of a suite room. "

"We loved that you could snorkel straight out front of accommodation. Bungalows had everything you needed. Staff at restaurant were so friendly. You were always greeted with a huge smile. They answered our questions about Gili Air and were very helpful with anything you needed. Close walk from port. Would definitely stay here again."

"Stayed for 5 nights. The receptionist who helped us checked in was very nice. Ahe also recommended to rent a motorcycle so we can explore anytime we wanted to go out. Without the motorbike, I dont think we would have seen Lombok's natural beauty and its villages. Our overall experience was unforgettable. Thank you!"

"I like the location, the room, the pool, and the beach. Only 1 small thing made me a little disappointed, food delivery is not allowed to come to lobby (Which I can understand) but the security asked to walk from my room to the street. I think they should bring my food the the lobby instead and ask me to pick it up at the lobby. That is disappointing."

"Our stay was exactly what we expected. We knew we didn’t book a brand new 5star resort so we didn’t expect the 5 start service. However, being a small “boutique” place with only 6 private villas, we were welcomed like family. The villas are big, high 20 ft ceilings with aircon. Outdoor bathroom with soaps, shampoo and shaving kit provided. Mosquito nets accent the slightly firm but comfy beds. 3 choices of combination breakfasts are yours to choose from. Due to their current search for a head chef/cook, breakfast is the only meal available but full restaurant menu to resume very soon. Drinks at Dragon Bar were delicious and reasonable. Staff is very friendly and took it upon themselves to help organise our excursion and entertainment for the kids ie; fishing rods to fish off the dragon bar beachside patio! The pool is nice and refreshing. The spa is priced competitively with other spas on Island. As we visited in mid April, things were still pretty quiet on the island and would love to see the seats and villas at Villa Bulan Madu and Dragon Bar full. It wasn’t hard for our kids to convince us to stay here next time, and we will. Price is right, staff is great, 10min walk from port and we were treated very well. Thanks Stefan and staff!"
