Great location and property

The house was great. Was perfectly located for easy walking to town or the other direction to YalKul and La Buena Vida. Very clean and the staff was great. The pool is entirely private with great views.

Just Relax!!

Big house, beautiful views, walking distance to many restaurants

It is on the iron shore, no sand, thus no seaweed. It is a short walk to many restaurants and beaches as well. The kitchen is a bit tight as well as the outside dining table area (pool side). Great sunrise/sunset/stars watching from the roof top look out terrace.

Charming ocean front villa with pool

Great location, quiet, caretakers on hand if you need anything & excellent communication with the hosts. The pool & hammocks under a tiki facing the ocean were a perfect place to cool off & relax after our adventures exploring the area. Loved snorkeling Akumal Bay, cenotes, caves & the Xplor adventure park!! The bakery in the main Akumal square offered great eats morning & evening. We also tried a restaurant in town that was excellent too. Highly recommend Akumal!

Absolute best house!!!

We had a wonderful experience at nicte ha. Highly recommend the house! It was so clean, Mari was amazing cleaning daily, Jose was a hard worker outside and we appreciate all the management company did for us.

Phenomenal

I’ve stayed in Akumal multiple times at hotels and wanted to try going vacation home rental for our family. We LOVED spending time at the pool here. The rooms are spacious and the daily cleaning service was a definite bonus. The beach chairs and coolers were a great addition. I would recommend to put curtains in the windows in the upstairs bedroom that face the road and driveway. You can see clearly in there at night! 24 hr security was great and Jose the handyman was lovely! We plan to be back !

Beautiful views!

The views are amazing from this home. All three bedrooms had ocean views. The master was outstanding with two decks to chose from. It’s a bit worn but the staff was attentive and did a nice job keeping things clean and tidy. The kitchen had everything we needed and more and we cooked frequently. The water heater broke while we were there and fixed that same evening! The manager was on top of it! It was very windy and rainy while we were there and rain snuck through cracks and into the house but the tile floors were easy to mop. All in all, a lovely stay.

Saw Agouti’s and Iguanas in addition to sunrises and sunset. Air conditioning for night and all open doors and windows for daily sea breeze. Mari keeps the house spotless and Jose the grounds keeper even polished our car windows! He cut open fresh coconut for us as well!! Awesome restaurants within walking distance along the cute brick road.

Perfect place! Great vacation.

We enjoyed our say very much. This was our third trip to Akumal. Casa Nicte Ha was the perfect place for us. Nicely located in Akumal, close to the beaches, diving, and cenotes. The house is nicely laid out. We had 10 in our party and we all found it very comfortable. Adrian our manager, the guards, and Jose who washed our cars were very friendly and helpful. Our one suggestion is to allow the renters to have access to the laundry to dry towels. After coming back from the cenotes, our towels were wet. We could not leave them outside because it was raining. Being able to dry them ourselves, we could have re-used and avoided not having dry towels due to the cleaners being off New Year’s day. I would highly recommend this place if you’re thinking about the Yucatan for a group vacation.

Totally Amazing Villa - within walking distance of so much!!

We had the best time in Akamul and Nicte Ha was the perfect home base for all of our activities!! Angel, Mari and Jose were wonderful! The house was neat as a pin, the grounds were perfect and Angel checked in to see how things were going. We couldn't have been more pleased with the staff. It was wonderful having the pool at the end of the long day in the sun as well night swimming for the kids. Everyone really enjoyed hanging out at this beautiful pool. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the basic necessities (except food) you will want for nothing. The bedrooms have air conditioning. The beds are very comfortable. There are safes in each of the bedrooms. The 2 bedrooms upstairs have twin bunks in each room. The kids loved these! What the other reviews don't include is the most amazing bar just down the street called La Buena Vida. You should not miss this on your trip the food is amazing! They have a pool, it is right on Half Moon Bay and is maybe a 3 min walk from the house. So you can do some snorkling, get some lunch and a beer before heading home. Everything was great and we loved the charm of the house. Thank you!!

My family and another shared this space for seven nights in early April 2019. We do a lot of rentals for vacation in various places, and I think this was the best experience we have had with a place. It was clean, easy to get in and out of, the staff (both of them, every day) were amazing, the pool was cleaned daily and was amazing, the kitchen was well appointed, the bedrooms were generous. One thing to know is that the beach on Akumal bay is now a private beach as of January 2019 or so. I grew up coming to akumal and snorkeling in the bay, but it has been taken over by resorts, and is no longer accessable to the public for free. You appear to be able to get onto the beach, but for a price, and in dealing with a snorkeling guide. we spent some good time on Half moon bay beach, just a 7 minute walk away, but it is not as nice as akumal bay was. Go to La Buen Vida, a 5 minute walk away. This is a great ex-pat bar/restaurant on the beach with a pool for anyone. our kids loved it, and the food was reasonable, and they have tequila flights...you are walking home so why not. Check out the Turtle sanctuary beach, no services or anything, beacutiful beach, and get to the beach in tulum as well as the ruins there. Coba ruins in the jungle are great as well, 60 minute drive. All in all this was perfect, would highly recommend to anyone!

Simply Amazing

Spent a wonderful week in Akumal. The listing (and photos) are accurate. House sits along a rocky/reef shoreline along the bay. Although there’s no direct beach access, the location allowed for quiet, uninterrupted, and private views of the water. Magical! The kitchen is well stocked. The beds (and sheets) comfortable. With ample windows and private decks, there is plenty of sunlight/water views for all. After booking through VRBO, the owner’s property management company connected me with a concierge—where I booked airport transfers, drivers for excursions, and a private chef. The process was very easy and the service was consistently excellent (but the concierge service pricing felt more like Miami prices rather than Riviera Maya). There are two staff members who work in/around the house each day, keeping the house, pool, and surrounding grounds in good condition. The kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans and storage containers as well as appliances—everything you will need. The living room has built in concrete benches/couches with cushions. If there’s a critique, it’s probably that their arrangement is not the best (but it is adequate) for spending together in that space and watching TV or working on a puzzle. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance—with info provided on site. The house has security—but I think that I saw the person/people maybe for a combined 45min over the week (and I looked for them). That said, the whole neighborhood felt safe (and there’s mostly monitored access at the point where cars enter neighborhood). I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again. Oh…the pool is large and spacious. For those new to the area, Akumal is about 80min drive from Cancun airport and about 25-30min from Tulum. Great location!

Fantastic Vacation at NicteHa

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic stay at Nicte Ha last week. We had two families: 4 adults and 3 teenagers, and had plenty of room to have our much needed space. The house was super comfortable and just like the description and photos show. Impeccably clean, with everything that you might need. Maria, Jose and Santos (overnight security) were wonderful; Santos is Jose's brother, and a wealth of information on the area. The location of the house is super convenient for walking around Akumal (5 minute walk to beaches, dive shop, turtles, great restaurants & souvenir shops) and a short drive in either direction to Playa del Carmen or Tulum. Nearby natural lagoon Yal-ku had fantastic snorkeling, also within walking distance. We had the best ceviche we've ever had at a local taqueria in town, across Route 307 (the non-touristy part of town), called "Chucky's". The place is always busy with locals, who take out buckets of fresh ceviche every day. Their tacos were really good as well, especially the carnitas. The guacamole at LolHa in Akumal Bay beach was also really good; also at LolHa we had the absolute best drink we had all week: fresh pineapple daiquiri. We will need to try it at home. Finally, we loved the ambiance at La Buena Vida in Half Moon bay (also within a 5 minute walk), and their whole fried fish was excellent. The only minor suggestion we'd have is to add some blinds or dark curtain options to the upstairs bedrooms, as in the early summer days, the sun comes in through the shite curtains and wakes you up at 7am (besides making those rooms quite hot, and needing heavier use of the AC). The view is absolutely stunning, but adding some blinds or dark shades to the windows might help keep them cooler and darker in the early morning.Thanks to the Akumal Direct Team and house maintenance staff for helping make our stay at Nicte Ha so great! We'd love to come back and would definitely recommend it!

Amazing Stay at Nicte-Ha

My wife and I decided on this house because I stayed at the neighboring house (Casa del Mar) which is owned by the same person 5 years ago and had a great experience. I was not surprised that our stay at Nicte-Ha was amazing because of prior experience. Location - The house is far enough away from Akumal beach to create a sense of calm, but close enough to easily walk for drinks at Lol-Ha or La Buena Vida for happy hour. We spent half day visiting Tulum (~45min south) but otherwise spent our entire time in Akumal. This house could be used as a great home base to travel throughout the area, but we decided on a more relaxing vacation (plus the house/pool is so nice you don't really want to leave). Cleanliness - Jose and Maria do an excellent job taking care of the property everyday both inside and out. Amenities - The kitchen was fully stocked and we made breakfast every day before venturing out. The house had everything you could want for a beach vacation (beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, etc.). We spent many hours everyday soaking in the sun by the pool and back patio area. The house was very spacious (we were only two people) but could easily accommodate a large family or multiple families. Security / Safety - We felt very safe the entire time (evening security on premise until sunrise). Akumal in general felt safe and we were comfortable walking 10 minutes back from dinner after a few drinks. The actual town of Akumal (across the bridge) felt safe as well and we ate a few lunches there. Attentiveness - We are pretty low maintenance travelers, but the property manager stopped by to see how everything was going. If there are any issues I am confident they would respond quickly. Jose is also around the property everyday and is great if you need anything. Negatives - There were no issues we had throughout our stay. The pool was a little chilly (as expected this time of year) but was very refreshing after baking in the sun. It is a tropical location so expect some small ants and other bugs (hardly noticeable and Maria cleans the place everyday). Overall - 9/10. I would certainly stay here again and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great spot in Akumal.

We have rented many homes throughout our travels and this one has the best pool ever! It is beautiful and so well cared for.The kitchen was a little small, but still functional and everything worked just fine.We love leaving the windows/doors open and listening to the waves, especially at night. The screens did a great job of keeping moisture out of the house. Only thing that would be helpful is to add something to the patio outside the dining room door to make that tile less slick. It gets very slippery when it is damp (which is most of the time from the ocean spray). We were careful and had no issues.We would 100% rent this home again if we returned to the Akumal area.

The little details were attended to, such as drinking water jugs in the bathrooms, kitchen well stocked including some basics. There were even some masks, snorkels and water toys. We would definitely stay there again. The layout of the house is a bit unusual but it was excellent for private spaces for all. I especially liked doing yoga daily on the crow’s nest patio. Great views of both ocean and jungle. Sweet!
