Top Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center Hotel Reviews
Inn at Whittier
10/10 Excellent
"Cute Inn really only place to stay and it was right on the water. Great location if you are coming by train or taking a cruise. The front desk is often not there. It’s a small mom and pop place, but very cute place overall."
"We found a hidden gem in Alaska, especially in Girdwood, AK. This is a great resort, at first when I read about this resort I thought they misspelled the name but actually it is called Alyeska Resort. This resort has a long history and it is located in a forest, right beneath Alyeska Mountain. Great drive from Anchorage to Girdwood with breathtaking views of Turnagain Arm, where are several places where you can take photos. The access to the Resort is very easy, surrounded by so cozy town of Girdwood, the most we really enjoyed the things that resort offers: Tram to the mountain Alyeska, where you can really enjoy the magnificent views and there is an affordable restaurant where you and your family can enjoy great food, relax under the sun, since we traveled in July we spent time by just relaxing up on the top, After you can take moderate hike down to the valley/resort. There are many great information boards where they explains how easy/moderate or difficult hikes are. Great salt water pool/spa and the gym, our family had a blast staying at the resort. In summer the day hours are longer , but resort has heavy curtains so you can sleep without eye covers. We really liked the interior of the hotel: the perfect mix of grand mountainside elegance and cozy alpine retreat, spaces feel incredibly warm and welcoming, decorated with Alaskan Artwork. The staff is very friendly, despite our late arrival they helped us to check in with positive attitude. Beds/pillows are very comfy."
Spacious rental for 6 in lovely home with gorgeous views, minutes from resort
8/10 Good
"Overall love the property and enjoyed my stay. House was great and the space was excellent. The windows in primary bedroom didn't open which made the room very warm during the 70 degree days. I would be nice to have black out curtains as the shade didn't block out all the light in the primary but the other two bedrooms did have better light blocking."
"Our particular room was clean but small. No room for luggage , no drawers and no closets. We managed to. Bathroom/shower was really good with good water pressure. Very clean and bed was nice and firm. We had an excellent view of the mountains facing the street. Breakfast and lounge area was always open and stocked with drinks and fruit. Coffee always available. Great location to town park and a couple good restaurants. Would recommend. Beware some rooms share bathrooms. Be careful when you book."
"Great rental! Excellent host! Our host went above and beyond for us! Even offering to help late at night. Our group was amazed at how helpful he was. The unit was clean and tidy. The beds were comfy, the entire place was as promised, and we were super happy with the entire process. We will rent there for our next group event. (Only advice, in the summer, the game room gets hot, a portable AC unit could be helpful)."
"The view is wonderful. From the listing we could not tell the configuration of our space. We rented the 3 BR 2 Ba space. It has 2 BR on the lower floor with the kitchen and living room, plus a larger BR up the stairs with an en suite Ba. There is another 2 BR unit also up on the top floor. Whenever someone walks upstairs it is very loud on the floor below. Other than that, the place was nice and has a good kitchen."
