This is a great place to stay being right on the water. Staff was very friendly, place could use some updates and the beach front needs some help but overall I enjoyed my stay here and will come back in the future.

It was great being right on the beach, listening to the waves roll in. I would suggest bringing your own lawn chairs if you plan on sitting at the beach. The view is just what I needed.

We loved being right on the beach. The waves were like a sound machine and we bith slept well. The room was very basic - bed, tv, mini fridge and microwave, bathroom with a shower. We weren't looking for anything fancy, so it worked very well for us. There was a balcony that we could have sat out at, and chairs with a fireplace on the beach. Unfortunately it rained our whole stay so we couldn't actually use them, but loved that we had the option!

Older facility could use some updating. Beds were good and clean. Did notice a little mold in bathroom. Also, so tating that the room is a kitchenette is a bit misleading as it is quite small and cramped. Continental breakfast was basically coffee and oatmeal. The location was perfect. Loved being right on the water. Listening to the waves and catching the sunrise was awesome.

Rooms were nice and clean. A bit small, especially for the price of the room but not horrible. Love that it was right on the beach and they actually had beach chairs and tables to use. That was a pleasant surprise. Overall, nice place

Great less expensive place to stay right on the beach overlooking Lake Michigan. It was clean and quit. Not a really busy town just nice and quit. Would defiantly book here again for a relaxing vacation.

For the price this old school hotel is a gem. It’s right on the water with its own balcony and Lake Michigan view. You can walk on the beach to the main beaches of downtown Algoma. There are fire pits and chairs scattered around the property. Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. There is endless coffee in check in/lobby area that is better than most hotel offerings. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

For many years I have driven past the Algoma beach motel. This is my first time staying at Algoma motel and I must say it was such a quiet, charming motel situated with the most beautiful location. Right on the beach with multiple pits for fires on the beach to make every night perfect. Amazing all around. The only thing I would add to help the facility, staff, or future goers is when the lake flys are out in force please provide more than a dollar store fly swatter. I understand there is nothing that can be done and it comes with the territory given the location but man do they really swarm and with a flimsy fly swatter you do feel kinda helpless.
