Breakfast was decent with a good variety. Spa was fairly good although pool closed. Was not advised of any VIP benefits which is disappointing. Staff were excellent at reception, friendly and offered early check-in and late check out. Well located near metro, bus stop and wothin walking distance to main sights. Safe area and clean.

Great Stay During Almaty Transfer

Great short stay in the center of Almaty during a transfer on Air Astana. Young desk staff were wonderful and helpful. Airport transfer efficient. Room was better than I had expected given the price I paid. Breakfast buffet was excellent if not effusive. Love the local options. Lobby is grand. Location central. A/C struggled during hot spell.

Really liked this hotel in Almaty. The breakfast was great. Rooms were really bright, very clean and spacious. Staff was super helpful. Overall it was perfect and no complaints whatsoever. Will stay again if I’m ever back in Almaty.

Our hotel stay was amazing. Very helpful front desk and hotel staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Many of the staff spoke English and were very helpful on local information and suggestions. Housekeeping staff were there every morning and supplied water, tea and coffee to our room. Our original stay was for 7 days but we had to extend our stay twice, and the hotel staff took care of everything. We had the breakfast buffet every morning and were very pleased with the food selections. We will stay here again whenever we return to Almaty!

Excellent

Shops on the first floor were never open, the majority of staff had no ideas or references for shopping. Very limited ability to charge to room (results in multiple charges and fees for international visitors). Overall, these were small things as the hotel is lovely, the rooms comfortable, the location excellent, and several staff members (Svitlana at reception) are exceptional.

This property maintains a lovely lobby area and the hotel room was clean. That's the good. The not-so-good...the bed was hard, the light beside the bed would not turn off. We called the desk, they sent someone to fix it and he could not. The solution? Point the light down toward the floor...No offer to change rooms. The restaurant food was expensive and not good.

Good location Staff helpful Never a five star hotel Souless, dated and rooms have zero soundproofing. Worst thing was half a weeks laundry cost $80 to do!! Daylight robbery. Overall it was fine, but nothing special.

Grat stay, friendly staff, front desk was very helpful when I had an emergency and needed to go to a hospital, they arranged everything including Taxi to hospital, who refused to take any money for the ride. That was very kind and helpful from the Hotel and the Taxi driver side. All I can say is THANKS

Good hotel

The hoteliers are friendly and the rooms are kept clean. Next time I visit Almaty again, I will definitely stay at this hotel again. The only regret is that I left my baggage at the hotel, but there was no separate storage room, so I kept it next to the front desk. Like other hotels, it would be nice to store luggage in the storage room and give luggage tags to customers to manage them safely. But you don't have to worry about losing your luggage or not.

I visit Almaty at least ones a year for one or two weeks for the past 8 years I always stay at the Dostyk. Love the Place, the staff are very professional, polite, helpful. The location is very convenient. The food at the restaurant and bar suburb, kudos to the chef Alecksandr Fomich, he never disappoints. The rooms are a little outdated, however clean and very comfortable. I wish they would install a railing on the front steps. In the winter it makes me nervous because of the possibility of slipping. I will definitely be back.

Gutes Hotel mit europäischem Standard. Zimmer war sauber und ausreichend groß, Klima hat gut gekühlt aber ließ sich nicht komplett ausschalten. Im Flur im 4. Stock leider sehr laute Klima ohne Wirkung und unangenehmer Geruch. Frühstück war ausreichend, Brot und Kaffee leider Nix.
