It was very cozy. The floors were filthy. The trash can was disgusting. There was a razor with some socks left in the bathroom. No toilet paper and the paper towels were half full. Had to call to get both. Bring socks if staying because your feet will be black within the first 10 mins. Otherwise, it was super cute and cozy with a fireplace and warm water with heat in the winter.
Stay at Sleepy Hollow for the location. It's located in the town center with easy walking everywhere. It is an older property and a bit dated, but the room was clean.

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
The cabin was a perfect size for my grandson and me. Bring slippers or sandals to wear around the cabin since they don’t seem to sweep. The cabin is definitely older and outdated but serves its purpose. It’s centrally located and feels safe. The heater wasn’t working and staff immediately helped me out. They were very kind and friendly.

The place was clean. However the description on Expedia was incorrect and we had to pay unexpected fees. Expedia listed that pets stay for free and accepting cats and dogs. When I checked in and informed them of my dog the gentleman stated there is a fee of $20 per day per pet and $100 deposit. I had also messaged the property days before arrival asking about registering my pet and I got no response. If I'd had known there was a fee I would have made accomodations for my pet. Expedia stated seasonal pool but a hot tub available. Hot tub was not in working order and was closed. The room that I reserved was listed as deluxe and description gave you options of a king bed or double bed, I chose King but I got a room with a queen bed and a full bed. Walls are thin and you can hear the outside noise from the road and people walking to their rooms. Overall the place was okay and it did smell clean just not as described on Expedia with the amenities.
This property offers a variety of options... rooms or cabins of various sizes. We stayed in a cabin. It was large and clean. Some may consider it rustic with the mismatched dishes and lumpy furniture. We liked that it was generally quiet and fairly comfortable. However, the jacuzzi could only be described as tepid, and in fact we saw children doing cannonballs into it and screaming, which was probably the only way to enjoy it at that point. And if you want a hot shower, you better be quick because although it started great, the temperature dropped too fast to get the conditioner out.
Clean & easy check in. I recommend, the only things that could use improvement is the WiFi, cleanliness of the pool & the room was clean but there was a big spider web near my window. You can hear that traffic on the street while trying to rest which I know is out of the motels control but good to be aware of.
This is our second stay at Sleepy Hollow. It is under new management and the seem to be making improvements and updating tne property. The location is convenient and the price is fair. The new owners seem to be doing all that they can to make guests comfortable during the transition. If you haven't been, Lake Gregory is is pleasant getaway that won't break the bank. In the summer they have lots of event in the village and at the lake.
I believe they need to renovate the property and put a little more effort into the painting, flooring, and general cleanliness. The towels and sheets were stained. It is extremely important to me that the place is clean. I know they are under new management, so it is even more reason to make a great effort for things to go well. Thank you.
1. Excellent TV and reception
2. comfortable bed
1. Terminally clogged sink. It never drained even a little.
2. Non working smoke alarm
3. Not cleaned behind things, ie: cups and creamers on floor behind the fridge.
4. Heavily chipped toilet seat. Looks horrible and filthy.
5. No toilet paper at all in bathroom.
6. Worn out and dirty futon
Outside of that it was a great stay.
It could seriously use someone willing to supervise the overall maintenence and cleanliness of the cabins . Someone who checks the work of the housekeepers and holds them accountable for their work.. proper maintenence is important for the guests comfort and safety as well as the employees.. Management should always put the guest's satisfaction first. I was refused a new room when i complained of the cleanliness of the cozy cabin.. The guy even walked out the the cozy cabin and i pointed out the complaints i had but still i wasnt acknowledged. He did say next time i stayed i would see how much better the cabin looked .. i will say that he wasnt rude. Oh and i payed the $9 to protect my reservation which was for sleepy nest yet i didnt get any protection at all.. i was stuck in a cabin that wasnt fit to be rented..
