「It was a nice, quiet place.」

「We could stay here again, it was very comfortable, nicely decorated in a lodge motif. We had deer in the front yard in the morning. It was a nice space to bring our dog to.」

「We enjoyed our stay at Paul’s cabin. It was a great home base for us as we traveled around the area (Hillman, Alpena, Clear Lake State Park beach, Ocqueoc Falls, and Rogers City). The cabin was comfortable. It was close quarters but suited our needs. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.」

「4 ladies spent a great week at cabin 2. This cabin is near the water, which was beautiful, crystal clear and clean. The bottom was sand and not mucky. They had a floating dock we were able to use which we did spending the whole day on it. The cabin was clean and comfortable. John the host was outstanding and helpful. I highly recommend this place.」

「Sunken Lake Cottage was a great place to stay and would highly recommend!」

「We loved the property… so much that we are looking at lakefront property (a little farther south) the view was amazing and Ryan, the host, was great!」

「John and his wife were great ! The area is beautiful we will definitely be back !」

「Beautiful property and cottage. Very peaceful and relaxing. So quiet!!! The host is excellent and very thoughtful. Delicious desserts were left for us from the local Amish bakery- the BEST Brownies! We also enjoyed the kayaks that are provided with the rental. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation!」

「Fantastic property!!! We had 4 adults and had plenty of room. Outdoor amenities are fabulous. We stayed over a Monday through Wednesday and the lake was so quiet. We swam and kayaked without any worry. I highly recommend this property and will look for it first on my next trip to Alpena! Thank you!」

「The property was great and had plenty of amenities! Our stay was smooth and we were all very happy with our property!」

「Really amazing location on what is effectively a lake because of the dam a couple miles down river. We arrived on a Monday and didn't see another person on the water the whole day, though Tuesday and Wednesday saw a little boat traffic. The paddle boat was defunct as far as we could tell, but there were two kayaks, which we prefer. The hot tub is nice, with a string of lights to plug in in the evening and a great view of the lake. We enjoyed Mio and made use of the Hinchman Acres boat rental to...

「You will need to bring your own WI-FI such as a mobile Hotspot if you want to watch anything other than DVDs. All of the outlets are 2 prong, no ground. Otherwise an excellent rustic cabin.」

「We had a wonderful stay! This home was the perfect home base for all of our Up North excursions, and coming back to a beautiful spot right on Grand Lake each day was a bonus. The house was exceptionally clean—truly spotless. You could tell that attention was given to every detail, from the baseboards and windows to the ceilings, closets, and corners. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for cooking and coffee, which we really appreciated. There were also so many thoughtful extras,...

「NettieBay was a great getaway moment after the summer season concluded. No one else around except for our hosts--our hosts gave us a nice warm greeting upon our arrival and their communication was awesome. The evenings were silent and best of all, no Wi-Fi! For once we were completely shut off from the rest of the world and left alone to enjoy ourselves. Thank you Mark and wife, Mario & Claudia」
