Palácio de Tavira, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World
10/10 Excellent
"Beautifully renovated palatial building, with some great design features. Right in the centre of the old town and very short walk to the Roman Bridge. The staff were exceptional, very helpful with nothing too much trouble. The hotel is well planted out with two outside garden areas. There is a spa, but the sauna is not yet finished and we didn't use the other facilities. My only quibble about the room was the lack of any drawers to put things in, and a TV above a desk where there should have been a mirror.
Great breakfast offering, eggs cooked to order and an extensive buffet. We were at the back of the building and it was very quiet, some people at the front reported noise from the road in front.
We didn't have dinner at the hotel because there are so many great and fairly inexpensive restaurants just outside or a very short walk away. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back again."
"It would be good to have some snacks or premade sandwiches for late travelers. The location is a bit remote from city center and, hence, difficult to find anything to eat after midnight."
"Most guests were ‘all inclusive’ so bar and restaurants were v busy. We were not and we added to the delay by paying as we went along. Staff fine but could not cope at times."
"Great location as near to beach and restaurants. All rooms have sea views and are clean with comfy beds. They gift you a free beach bag and hat for every room. Very nice touch. Hotel do provide shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and body wash. However the body wash is from a dispenser and did not get topped up when it became empty. Breakfast was all right, it is repetitive and only wish there was more hot food options."
"This hotel is a good choice for someone who needs a rest from busy daily life. It has has a great location as it is next to the ferry for the beach, a restaurant is on a ground floor, a main market hall is 5 minutes away. Big shopping centre is over the river - also quite close. Also near the bus station (train is further away). The residencia is well organised, the staff is helpful. I would not recommend another alternative place to stay in Tavira as there are in a different category."
"It’s a beautiful place quiet and friendly staff. The restaurant in the hotel was great the staff was helpful and always there for you . The pool outside and the views was nice great place to relax. Would go again this time a little longer ."
"Todo perfecto, el personal excelente, el desayuno también. Lo unico malo, un poco de infiltración de agua en el baño y es necesario si o si un auto para ir hacia la zona centrica"
