Grand Hotel Excelsior Amalfi

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel is as described. Perched on a hillside with a stunning view of Amalfi coastline. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Well maintained property. FYI: ask for the free hotel shuttle from the ferry station when booking, be ready to pay €70-90 to get up the hill to the hotel."

"The overall stay was nice. There are a few things that make me give it a 3 star review vs a 5 star. The staff was sooo helpful and VERY responsive. Carlo carried my bags All the way up/down 162 stairs to my room! The view from our room was also gorgeous! Atrani is gorgeous and VERY convenient area to visit Amalfi = 5 stars The mattress felt like a concrete pad. There were 162 stairs one way to our room. There was no sitting room on the balcony and the free breakfast was always empty when we came = 3 stars"

"Beautiful room and hotel. The housekeeping and breakfast waitstaff was very attentive and had great service. We did tip the breakfast staff and housekeeping daily. On checkout day, the front desk asked for a tip for the staff, which was quite bold. We explained we tipped the staff everyday. The hotel does not provide any lotion in the rooms. Also, I sent two messages to the hotel asking if they found golf shirts that my husband may have left in the room. They have not responded."

"This Hotel was spectacular. I wish we had been able to stay longer. Everything was amazing. Beautiful pool, wonderful beach and gorgeous views. Beware the stairs. It’s a steep long climb from the lobby to the pool & beach but well worth it. (Do NOT forget anything if you’re headed to beach or pool because it will be tiring to go get it! lol) We cannot wait to return."
