This is a beautiful hotel. The views from the room and the hotel, in general, are stunning. Everyone from the front desk people, to the wait staff, the housekeepers, and the shuttle drivers were all extremely, nice, helpful, and professional. The hotel pool, and the views from the pool, are also amazing.

Very scenic on top of the hill. They provide transportation to the city center. If you’re looking for a more quiet and higher view of Amalfi I suggest this property.

This was a very nice hotel, we stayed for 4 nights in Amalfi. It's charming and older architecture/features - but that is how all hotels are in the area, you wont be getting a modern hotel. Very clean and good service. Hotel staff was very nice. The pool is nice and offers a great views, but water very cold likely bc of the shade, and no one spends time at the pool, I'm assuming because you are out exploring when in Amalfi. The hotel shuttle was very good feature and used multiple times a day, they have an app to schedule very easily. It takes about 10 minutes to get down to the city center where a lot of the action is.

The hotel was in disrepair. Broken door handles, bad air conditioning. Staff did their best with what they have to work with. They are the best part of the hotel.

Amalfi town is beautiful, historic but a bit chaotic and crowded. The Grand Excelsior is a peaceful respite well above the town built into the cliffs. The hotel has the best views in all of the Amalfi Coast. The architecture and decor are very charming and almost a time capsule for 1950's Mediterranean elegance. We loved the friendly staff and the restaurant and bar were very good and all we needed. The highlight for us was the private elevator built into the cliffs taking you down to the private beach. Amazing.

A fantastic hotel in every sense

Unbelievable hotel, prime location on the hill side and only a 10 minute (max) shuttle ride into the town centre (or private beach) which is totally free and every 15 minutes both ways. The views are without a doubt the best in Amalfi. The staff are fantastic and super attentive. We would come back in a heartbeat and miss it already.

We loved this hotel. The views were incredible and the service was excellent. They had a lovely pool and private beach. Everyone was very accommodating of my gluten and dairy allergies and we ate at the hotel restaurant for many of our meals. The shuttle service takes you to the private beach and downtown Amalfi, right near the ferry dock.
