This was a good two night stay in Ambleside. Located just outside the town centre it is an easy walk for meals and indeed not a bad base for a walk. The room was very good - bed was very comfortable. Not too sure about the Mountain View from our room but not an issue. The rest of the building is somewhat eclectic but this didn’t detract from a good stay.

Enjoyable stay

We stayed Monday to Friday. Situated a 10 minute walk from Ambleside so dramatically reduced the need to use the car. On site parking which was convenient. Self check-in was simple and smooth. Our room was so spacious, very clean, comfortable and very stylish, loved our separate lounge area! The onsite breakfast in the Casa restaurant was "ok" although fair to say there was lots of selection. Overall a pleasant, comfortable stay.

It’s on the road to the lake, just outside Ambleside Our room was clean and well appointed. There are no reception staff - but very clear instructions regarding access to the property are sent to you before arrival and further information is provided in the room. We were here for one night and it was ideal for our short stay.

Short break

We had a lovely short break at Ambleside Suites and Rooms The Fisherbeck. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with a lovely big bathroom and all we needed during our stay. The only negative was no reception which we were aware of before we arrived. We had no issues so didn't need to speak to anyone during our stay but still missed the personal touch of a welcome etc.

We were kept well informed on the details around our trip and the booking in and parking wrre very straightforward. Location is great, 3 min walk into town. Bed is very uncomfortable for our liking, far too soft, no support. Advertised as having NETFLIX etc, but yiu cant access this. Would us again, but only for a 1 night stop over.

We’ve been to the hotel previously. Obviously changed hands. Room is fantastic, but there is no longer a bar or breakfast service and no staff as there was previously. Communication was done through WhatsApp which is great but definitely more an Airbnb style now as opposed to a hotel.

weekend walk

Nice modern accommodation and good size rooms that have recently been renovated. It is like self service and not a hotel which is fine if that is what you are after. No water in room for example and no one on reception while I was on site or breakfast. This was not a problem for me but maybe for others. When I called the mobile number for service they were very good and even brought me a bottle of water.

The room was comfortable overall — the bed was great, and the shower room was a good size, I liked the decor and the decorations. The main areas of the hotel were clean and tidy and parking was very convenient, though spaces were a little tight and filled up quickly. Very convenient location to explore the Lake District from. Check in process was efficient. That said, I did notice some issues with the room’s condition. There seemed to be a damp problem (present or past I’m not sure!), with thick condensation on the windows, remnants of wet patches on the walls and a musty, damp smell on arrival. The shower room also had some mould on the ceiling and the grouting around the shower was black with mould, which could do with a more thorough clean as I have to say, I thought this was fairly foul! It’s a very common thing to happen in a shower but it’s also extremely easy to clean (before it gets to this stage) and keep on top of. The radiator and towel rail weren’t working which was nothing more than a slight inconvenience (not cold enough to need it yet really!) but it did mean my towels stayed damp throughout my stay - I think the towel rail may just need bleeding as the bottom was hot. Despite what I’ve said above, I would stay here again purely as it’s an extremely convenient location to explore the Lake District and Ambleside and in general the room was fine and comfortable. But the mould and damp stop me from wanting to give this place a more positive review and rating.
