Location excellent, all within walking distance or short drive. Clean to a point, the bed linen and bathroom were clean, however the entire apartment was tired and shabby. The walls were mouldy and the electrics need an overhaul. The fan heater in the bathroom is a disaster waiting to happen. The central heating is pathetic so without the fire the place was freezing. So much equipment and facilities not or nearly working, one side of the toaster, the electric blanket, the dimmer in the main bedroom. Made for a dark and gloomy stay. Pet friendly but not pet equipped. Had to keep trekking up and down the stairs to take my dogs out as the path behind the apartment was slippy and the steps are lethal in the wet.
The mattress is so hard and uncomfortable which in the cold made it ten times more uncomfortable. We had to leave a day early due to a massive power outage, which was not the properties issue but without torches or any gas fired cooking appliance meant we would have not been able to eat or drink that evening as the local area also had no power so all pubs closed. This is not luxury and does not warrant it's 4 star rating. The apartment is tired and lacking love. With some TLC it could be amazing.
