Hotel is good value for the money. It is in nice quiet safe neighborhood, which is not far from attractions. I like 24/7 front desk service. Staff is friendly and diligent. The room is clean. The only drawback is curtain is not wide enough to cover window. The bed squeaks a little when I turn on my side.

The hotel is at a nice quiet location that is close to lots of attractions, especially the museums. The bus directly to and from airport is just a few minutes walk away. The 24/7 front desk service makes me feel so at ease. The staff are very nice and courteous. The only drawback is that curtain in our second time stay room is not wide enough to cover the window. The bed squeaks a little when I turn on my sides. Generally, this is a very good valued hotel. We enjoyed our stay there and will be back in the future.

Nice hotel - staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with our questions. Room was spacious given that Amsterdam hotel rooms can be notoriously small. Good breakfast. Overall recommend this hotel - we were really happy with our stay

a leisurely 30 minute walk from the central train station through and around the city, Dam Square, boutique shops, cafes and canals. The hotel room was very clean, beds comfortable and neighborhood quiet. We would stay here again

Thank you kindly for your review! Our rooms do not have installed AC indeed, only mobile personal AC units and Fans on request. The room size for your Standard Double room is a rather common and large size for inner city Amsterdam hotels and we are sorry this did not meet you expectations. Housekeeping changes linen for stays longer than 3 nights thus for your three nights with us indeed no full linen change was to be performed unless specifically requested.

The bathroom needs some hooks or towel bars!! It would be nice if the hotel supplied hair conditioner as well as shampoo. It was very hot during our visit and the supplied fan though helpful was not really adequate to keep the room cool.

This was a great stay! Had the basic essentials for a good night sleep, the bed could’ve been comfier but still good. Staff were very helpful and friendly as well.

What a great property! Very easy to walk to and get around and the tram stops just around the corner when arriving from central station. The receptionist was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Our room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Would happily stay again when returning to Amsterdam.

We spent three days at this hotel and it was a quiet, clean and pleasant stay! No bells and whistles, just a basic and comfortable room with what you need. Only reason I didnt rate 5 stars was there was an odour coming out of the drain in the bathroom on the last day and the towel rack was broken. Extremely helpful and friendly desk staff. Felt safe and I was very pleased that it was a less populated neighborhood compared to the centre but still conveniently located to walk to anything you want to do. Also a pretty large room by European standards! Overall great stay, thank you!

Such a welcoming staff; professional and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast each morning was very good! The hotel is convenient to transportation and restaurants. It is a family owned hotel and it shows!! We will definitely make this our Amsterdam home when visiting again and will recommend it to our traveling friends.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and is not what it shows online. The toilet in our room had to be repaired upon arrival, the bed was smaller then I had asked for the door had trouble locking and the bathroom door had holes that could be seen through….. there is no where to store food, literally the smallest rooms I have ever seen. Everything from the hallway echos into the rooms and be prepared to hear your hotel neighbours using the bathroom in their room….. or anything else they choose to use their rooms for. I do not recommended this hotel at all worst. If you complain (ie our toilet not working) first question asked was “well what did you do?” then asked my son “what’s your problem?” very rude staff DO NOT STAY HERE ITS A RIP OFF

We are of course rather surprised to read what you left us as we receive very positive review scores and comments by the vast majority of our esteemed guests.To address some of the points you made: The room you booked with us is a small double room, we have larger rooms available, and the size of the room you booked was known at point of booking of course. If we had not been fully booked during your single night's stay we would have happily provided you an upgrade if it was available of course.Sound proofing in this long standing monumental building we are in, as is often the case in Amsterdam's city center, is a challenge indeed and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however we do mostly hear from our guests that our hotel is quiet, and night's rests are had in a positive manner.The toilet in your bathroom was in act not broken however due to ongoing renovations of all rooms the water had to be turned on, and after you informed us this was done and everything worked again.We believe that there must have been some level of language or cultural misunderstanding regarding your perception of our staff being rude. As is evident in all our reviews our team is highly rated for their friendliness and helpfulness to all our guests, and whenever we are notified of issues during a guests' stay we always take action to make sure the stay is a positive one.We are sorry to hear that you experienced and perceived matters in the way that left you feeling anything less than positive and hope other travelers that read this and the overwhelming majority of our reviews can be informed of the service and quality that we at Hotel de Looier truly do provide all our guests during their stays with us.

Room was spotless nice breakfast and attentive staff….only criticism was the pillows . They were very soft and uncomfortable/unsupportive for my liking . Other than that a very nice hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel with my fiance. We booked for 11 nights so truly got a feel of the area and hotel and with true honesty I can say its the best holiday desicion we ever made to 1) come to this district of amsterdam and 2) choose this hotel. We dealt with most if not all the reception staff, and some of the cleaning staff, and not a bad word can be said. They were all friendly, knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. The rooms were so much better than we imagined. The best thing we enjoyed about the rooms were the ability to open windows and use radiators to control the temperature of the room. In other hotels we experienced either the radiator was too noisy, or windows didn't open over 1cm. But here at Hotel de Looier you are in full control of the room. The shower pressure and temperature were great, the bed was comfy, the curtains are black out and the mirror is nice large and clean. The only way the room could get better was I personally found the pillows a little large and firm, but I'm sure if I had mentioned to reception they would have tried their best to find me an alternative. My fiance used the pillows just fine. We went for the smaller of their double bedrooms and frankly it was still plenty of space. As for location, honestly it couldn't get any better. We were in walking distance of everything and the area the hotel is in is quiet enough to be out of the business of the city but close enough to everything that we really did walk everywhere.

Great location and so easy to get to from Schipol by bus 397 instead of the train. Despite being very central it's in a quiet street so we slept well! Recommend!

Hotel was very clean but basic. The hotel had everything that we needed and the bed was comfortable for a good nights sleep. Hotel staff were all very helpful and polite especially Dave who gave us a free breakfast for the morning after we arrived to help us start our very busy day celebrating a friends 50th. The hotel was walkable into the centre with restaurants and bars nearby. I would definitely return to this hotel if ever in Amsterdam again.

Great location. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean but unfortunately the fan in the bathroom kept going off every time we walked in there and would stay on for another 10 mins afterwards. This was a nuisance in the middle of the night when getting up to use the bathroom and trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to disturb my husband…both of us had broken sleep because of that darn fan.
