We enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Library in Amsterdam. Convenient yet fairly peaceful location, and less than 10 minutes walk from Centraal Station. A 20 minute stroll would take you to Dam Square. I would happily stay there again if I were to return to Amsterdam.

The property is quite far from the city center and the tram, although there was a bus that stops near it. The upside was that it was nice and quiet. The room in itself was fine. There was hair on the floor from the previous traveller and the sink had some noticeable water spots. The shower door was also missing the knob (or maybe that was how it was designed), it was difficult to open after closing. All-in-all, it was a fine place to sleep.

This hotel is in a very old building, only about 600 metres from the main train station, and an easy walk to most attractions. It was quiet, the beds comfy, the room quirky and fine (the attic room had a 22 degree slope to the floor!). As you would expect, in a building of this age, there were half a dozen steps to enter the building. To access the 3rd floor, the stairs were very, very steep and very, very narrow. . It was treacherous trying to carry a suitcase up and down. The lift only went to the second floor. I would highly recommend this hotel, provided the accomodation was on the first and second floors.

Location, location, location! 15-20 minutes walking distance to practically any point of interest in Downtown Amsterdam. Walking distance to the Centraal Station (local transportation hub). Free coffee in the lounge. 24/7 concierge service. Almost 300 years old building with well preserved charm and unique characteristics. Very steep stairs - not for people with walking disability. Very friendly staff.
