Superb place, basic but clean and a very comfy mattress made a great stay. The bar and food place in this hotel / hostel is amazing. Tv screens all over to watch the mighty Sunderland beat Leeds at Roland road… under the lights aswell ! Leeds under the lights United never get beat under the lights. They did this night !

Unfortunately, I stayed during a heat wave, which is not the hostel’s fault, but it was so so hot in the rooms. My biggest concern was noise. My room was directly above the bar entrance and again, it was hot, so we had to keep the windows open (they only tilt open a crack, which didn’t do too much to let the air in anyway). Because of this, I could hear everything outside even through earplugs. If you’re a light sleeper be aware. Another thing to keep in mind at this hostel is there isn’t really any common space. Many hostels have a kitchen space or a seating area/lobby where people can hang out, but that doesn’t really exist here, besides the bar on the ground floor, but I felt bad to sit in there if I didn’t want to order anything. This hostel works as a cheap place to sleep as long as you don’t mind noise, but if you’re looking for a social hostel experience where you have the chance to meet other people that may not be so easy here.
