Although the cabin is indeed "rustic" is was clean and the location is great. The shipping lanes in front of the cabin provided endless entertainment when not walking on the beach itself.
We had 4 adults & 2 dogs, and it was an ideal location & cabin for a lot of quality family time!

Great rustic cabin
Loved waking up to the seagulls and waves crashing and drinking coffee while tending the wood burning stove. Couple nice hikes close by and an easy walk to the restaurant/general store. We enjoyed our date weekend! Thanks for the hospitality !

Great Beach Location
two friends and their dog stayed here for a wedding at Guremes Island Resort. The listing was accurate, but the automated responses to inquiries was a little frustrating. They let me know at about 3pm that I could check in early at Noon, same on the check out. Great place though and on the water.
The property was lovely, and access to the beach from the backyard... priceless. Loved the ability to bring our pup along for the weekend. Great views and beautiful sunsets. A few things could use a little TLC, and the listing updated to reflect. Also a note that the septic system has a bit of an offputting sulfur smell, but totally appreciated the hot/cold water filter provided.
A frame house w tall wondows looking over the bay. Waterfront property w all amenities to enjoy the scenic beauty and quiet of the island. Adequately furnished and spatially laid out. Make sure to carry all essentials as there is only one store on the island w limited supplies.

Lovely beachfront charm
We've stayed here twice because we enjoy the location so much. It's cozy, bright, and has all the amenities we want while being pet friendly. This week was no exception but we certainly had some exciting weather and were grateful to feel snug and safe through a windstorm and king tides, just as we felt last year during a historic snowstorm. I'm sure this place is even more beautiful in summer but it's a glorious space and I'm grateful we can rent it.

A great simple place to stay
This is our second stay here. No complaints other than a lack of ice trays which we ended up buying the first trip but were disappointed to see missing on the second. On the second trip as well there was no firewood, only the nasty instant logs. So the deck and indoor stove was not an option.
Otherwise its a great place and easy to enjoy, in the winter maybe bring a quilt for sleeping.

Cozy with a view
Wonderful view and close access to the beach. All the utensils etc you would ever need to fix a meal. Great wood burning stove - just bring your own wood! A real nice drinking water dispenser. I shut the hot water option off because it is noisy for sleeping. The water has a sulphur smell which some will find unpleasant.
Fantastic as long as you know you are taking a ferry!
Great rustic spot on the water. Note though..no w/d no dishwasher. All else is cozy and great! But another noteworthy mention. You take a ferry to the island and they stop running early on weekdays and rather early if attending evening events on the mainland!!!

Nice place; bring your own drinking water!! One burner on the stove not working, one cadet heater not working, wood for wood stove was under a carpet with lots of holes in it, so was wet. But, a great place, nice view over the water, and of course a great location.

Perfect location and surroundings.
This rustic cabin is right on the beach and the surroundings are beautiful. There is such a variety of wildlife to see and listen to, it's amazing. We enjoyed driving and walking around the island checking out all the landmarks and offerings. Be sure to bring everything you think you might need as far as food & beverages go. There is a General Store and they have a list online of what they stock but do not count on that! I found myself taking the short trip across to the Safeway in Anacortes to get the items we needed that were on the General Store list....but not in stock at the store. All in all we had the peaceful, relaxing, wonderful getaway we were looking for.
The kitchen needs additional plates, cups and utensils. Some of the kitchen drawers are sticky. I appreciated the Brita, but it needed to be cleaned. There was not enough toilet paper and we had to buy our own. Make sure to bring a fan if it's the summer months because it gets HOT during the daytime (the house is uninsulated). Other than those things, the beds are comfortable and we had a lovely time hanging out on the deck and water. We also really appreciated the wood for fires.
The four of us enjoyed the quaint endearing quirkiness of this property. The cobwebs others have complained about were outside and easily mitigated with a damp paper towel. The bedroom light switch is a little finicky, but it'll work, just work with it. The stairs and railing to the beach are not present, but there are driftwood logs that have been stacked for makeshift steps which are functional. We found lovely stones which I think are called agates on the beach, and the kitchen was well equipped with items and cooking needs. Buy your groceries in Anacortes before the ferry, and consider bringing bottled water or gallons in case the taste of the water is unpleasant for you. All in all a lovely and relaxing getaway!
The house needs work. We felt there was no pride in ownership. Just simple things. New utensils. Clean the bathroom better. Dust the place. Put a fireplace on the deck that actually works. It had no air in the bottom and couldn’t have a fire. Replace the gate on the deck so you can actually go to the beach from the deck. Just needs some attention. Badly. But the topper for us was when we opened the fireplace inside the house and there was a dead bird. So gross.

Loved it!
We loved staying here! Perfect location for a quiet getaway. Would definitely stay here again.
I rented this cozy place to meet my husband after he returned from 5 days of kayaking and camping in the San Juan Islands. This rustic A-frame has a front-row view of Guemes Channel and the twinkling lights of Anacortes at night. The king bed mattress in the loft is very comfortable, and the bathroom fresh and well stocked with towels.
We enjoyed the cheery wood stove, and made good use of the two-night stash of firewood. Ferries, boats and sea planes do pass by occasionally, and we enjoyed watching this activity. Our last morning, an Orca with two juveniles made an appearance! The one and only General Store on Guemes Island was mainly a pub restaurant, with very limited supplies and food tucked in the far back, but we had the best apple pie ever there!
We would re-book this place for sure!
