V. Disappointing.
I checked in during the afternoon. But needed to leave as had other plans that day.
On returning to to hotel at around 21:00 in the evening and entering the room for the first time to see properly, my family and I were immediately swarmed by insects in the corridor that were on the walls and room door, so after entering the room at haste to avoid any critters to follow, we were in the room which was very dated and in need of an overhaul.
The bathroom had tiles missing and further critters making it their home.!
My daughters, found when going to bed dirty sheets, mine was thankfully ok. However when I was ready for some sleep and wanting to cool the room found the AC not working, a very unwanted experience considering the country had just had the hottest day of the year.
My mistake was not upping sticks and leaving immediately, instead of staying the night.. in the morning, we gathered our belongings left the room, fort our way through the critters and packed our luggage in the car.
When advising the receptionist of the issues encountered I got a sorry and that the maintenance team would be sent to inspect the issues, however I continued by saying I would not be staying for the second night as planned which was greeted by a surprised look and the response “are you sure”, to which I replied yes I’m sure, the receptionist to his credit did try to offer me an upgrade at no extra cost.! But at this point I was happy to leave and get my money back for the 2nd nigh
