Had a great time at the cabin. This will be our 4th stay and we will definitely be back. AC and ice machine worked great. Rode ATV's all over, floated the beautiful Black River and enjoyed the view. Best rental property in southeast Missouri imo.
Pictures on line do not do the cabin justice. It is way nicer in person. View to the river is incredible. We highly recommend renting. I know we will be back. Jeff is a great host who provides any and all information you request. Last minute perfect getaway for Thanksgiving!
Off the grid feel with all of the amenities of home! Really cool property, had fun shooting and hiking and teaching the grandparents how to "offroad" down to the river!!! Enjoyed by the entire family. Its about 50mins to Johnsons shut ins but still a very doable day hike trip. Would lovw to return!!
We’ve stayed in this area and Current River before and if you want seclusion this is your spot. All the luxuries of home but in the middle of nowhere. Side by side or four wheeler is almost a requirement. Average truck would not make it all the way to the river. Great hosts and property manager. Cabin view is second to none.
We loved the view from overlook cabin. Cabin was clean and cozy. Follow directions property manager sends you because gps will try to take you on a scavenger hunt but this was my fault. Accessing river a sxs or 4x4 definitely needed due to river being up. Very peaceful setting at river and cabin.
The cabin and view were perfect for our girls weekend!!! We had a great time.

Secluded getaway
We had a great time at the cabin. Very secluded, access to the river via a walk through the woods, well-stocked cabin with everything we needed for a great stay (board games, movies, washers, fire pit, etc.)
We have stayed at this house two years in a row now. It is a wonderful place to stay for our family outing. We take our side by side's and enjoy the river below.
This was our family’s second time staying at the cabin. We love being able to enjoy the comfort and amenities of the cabin while being in such a remote location. I could sit on the porch and stare out at the view all day long. It’s a super special place!
The cabin is extremely nice well thought out and up to date. The view and river are perfect for enjoying summer days and cooling off. The Owners Tim and Deanna are very friendly and accommodating. We will be back soon.
This property was exactly what we were looking for….private and remote space to be able to bring our dogs and allow our son and his friends to enjoy time on the river and ATVs.

Beautiful place just like the photos
We had the most amazing time! The view was absolutely breathtaking and pictures DO NOT do it justice. The house had everything we needed (and more). It was beautiful inside and out. We own an ATV but would highly recommended renting or bringing one to get to the river. When you get there it’s clear water and my family had a blast. Thanks again for making this a memorable stay!
View was great. Was little disappointed that AC and ice maker did not work as advertised

New Definition of "Getting Away"
Lovely facility which my 7 year old niece described as being in the middle of nowhere. Was perfect for the six adults and three children who gathered there to see the total solar eclipse--which we did get to see.
Situated so that we didn't see the on site owners or their guests.
On arrival it was clear the place had not been vacuumed for a while (lots of dead lady bugs) and a couple other minor maintenance things, which I shared with the property manager.
Fantastic setting, lovely place.

Breathtaking View
The cabin was very comfortable and well-stocked. The view was absolutely beautiful. This cabin is very remote, more so even than expected. Deb was helpful, we followed her directions carefully and got there just fine. The gps coordinates helped also. We enjoyed puzzles and games and were comfortable in the cabin, even with a large group. One down side is that there is really no easy way to the river. We tried one of the paths in a 4wd truck and it was so washed out that we barely got turned around before getting stuck in deep ruts. After that experience, we opted out of attempting other paths and just went to the public access, which was enjoyable anyway. I would strongly recommend atvs or going to the public access points, unless this road to the river gets repaired. All in all it was a very enjoyable weekend with nice accommodations, and a beautiful view. Thanks for sharing the cabin with us!
We had 9 adult family members together for a weekend of floating the Black River — this house was the perfect home base! We loved the beautiful river views and the house was nice with all the accommodations needed.
We went down to the river per the instructions from the house the first evening and agree that you need 4-wheel drive. We even parked our SUV on the creek bed and walked the approx. .25 mile to the river.
We used two different river outfitters — Jeff’s Canoe from Annapolis, it was a great float with beautiful bluffs, very convenient from the house. The next day, we went to Franklin’s out of Lesterville — a further drive and it was much busier on that part of the river, busier spot and it was a Saturday. We still enjoyed the river and had time to check our Johnson Shut-ins and Elephant Rock State Park — both worth a visit if you’re in the area!
We made all our meals at the house - grilled and made use of the big kitchen. It’s the perfect spot for a big family gathering!
