Surely one of the prettiest, liveliest cities ever. Designed for fun: beautiful huge natural, activity-rich lake surrounded by walking, biking trails; fabulous enormous park; playgrounds; great market days; cool sites. What a happy place!

Annecy is more touristy than I expected but very charming and fun. The lake is gorgeous. We rented bikes and were able to get out of town and see a bit of the countryside around Annecy, which is beautiful.

If u like gourmet food, farm fresh produce, desserts that are out of this world and spectacular views to boot than Annecy is the place to visit. Annecy surpasses Avignon in every respect. If u visit France you must add it to your itinerary.

Stunning architecture and mountains surrounding, busy footfall near the lake even in winter but still plenty of areas to walk. Lovely old town, easy to drive, plenty of shops.

Restaurant and tourist area were enjoyable. We were able to drive all around the lake. Great views and very popular with the locals. I could see how it could get very crowded during the summer months.

Beautiful place worth visiting. As long as you stay within the tourist area, you'll feel safe. Lots of poverty and homeless people near the hotel.
"This is one of the finest hotels I personally have stayed in. Comfortable beds, air conditioning, good access to city center, possibly their rooftop bar is the best view in town. Absolutely no problems and would stay here again. "
"Wonderful location on the shore of the lake. Short walk to old town and neighborhood bars and restaurants. We rented the ebikes 3 times for a trip around the lake. "
"We stayed for 8 nights with two Prestige rooms. Loved the hotel look, layout and our quiet bedrooms with balcony. The rooms were a highlight for us - there was some peeling paint around the shower head and mixed opinions on the comfort of the balcony chairs but neither detracted from our 5* enjoyment.
A special mention to the cleaning staff and to the ladies who work in the bar. We also hired bikes for 1/2 day (very good value) and had one massage (OK value).
For such a long stay we opted to park our car free off-site behind the hotel (research needed), and visited Pan et Gato and Carrefour behind hotel for basic food items. We were put off using hotel restaurant by some mixed reviews around service so cannot comment on that.
The walk to the main town sometimes felt long so we used a bus along the road behind the hotel for some journeys at hottest part of the day."
"Great place to stay. 15 min walk to the old part of town. Air Condition didn’t work well so my nights weren’t relaxing at all. Not easy sleeping with no AC in 38 degree Celsius. "
