“Upstairs in a remodelled log cabin in remote area. Clean/comfy bed; good HVAC; full frig; plenty of room (bedroom, kitchen, living room, bath); small shower space; needs more attention to detail as there were some issues (but not deal breakers). Overall, 4 out of 5.”

“Mattress was not comfortable”

“Staying at the Alexander Mansion felt like stepping back in time to an era of elegance and warmth. Every piece of furniture and every lamp tells a story—but what truly made this stay unforgettable was the hospitality of the 80-something host, a former chef, who graciously prepared a beautiful and heartfelt breakfast ceremony for us. His kindness and attention to detail gave our journey a sense of home and heartfelt care. Thank you for not only providing a charming place to stay, but for making……

“Smoking smell in the room. First thing I see as I walk in is a roach on the floor. The bath tub also had a roach, once I washed that down the drain ants started to crawl out of the drain. Several more roaches were found during my stay.”

“I would love to come back here next time I’m visiting Winona, only hotel around here that accepts people under 21. Rooms come with an AC unit which is soooooooooo nice. The staff seems cool too although I didn’t need to talk to them much because the place was just so good.”

“Very quaint, family friendly accommodations! Clean, well maintained and inviting. We loved the location and all the fun things to explore in the area. Would definitely stay here again.”

“It was a amazing experience great help from the owners would definitely stay there again”

“We had a great stay here. The house had more than enough room and had everything we needed. Communications for the host were timely and accurate. Check in was super easy. Would stay again!”

“This place is absolutely beautiful. Set right to the falls in Independence. I wish I had taken my morning coffee outside to the private overlook of the falls, but inside was perfect too”

“I loved our stay while visiting Tenba Ridge Winery and Blemis Bluff Winery. The only real complaint was the couch as it was not comfortable to get cozy on and watch a movie for someone with a bad back. But other than that we loved the stay and will be back in the spring to stay but will stay in a different suite for a bigger shower as room # 3 only has a single stall shower, reminded me of my time at tech school in the military. It had chairs outside the room to sit and watch the……

“We had a wonderful stay! The home was exactly as described, and it was perfect for our group. The views are absolutely breathtaking and made the stay even more special. Hosts were friendly and communicative, and check in was very easy. One of our favorite parts was the peaceful country setting. We loved watching deer in the surrounding fields during the morning and evening, and the beautiful scenery made for such a relaxing getaway. We also got to enjoy the stars which we don't get to see in the……

“A charming place to stay with a spacious primary bedroom, laundry room, and living areas. The backyard patio is a perfect place for a morning coffee and a quiet evening. We would definitely rebook on our next visit.”

“This is a very interesting, well-maintained home. There are fine decorating details appropriate to this vintage home. There are many items for guest comfort.”
