"We really enjoyed the cottage because it was ideal for the wet and cold weather conditions we experienced during our week on Skye. The spacious but warm living room with great view, big tv media system and lots of books meant it was easy to spend time in the house without feeling couped up. It is fairly far along the road but this comes with the plus of extra peace and quiet. We'd love to visit again."

"Hébergement type vintage. Bon accueil, chambre grande, matelas un peu mou, électricité coupée dans les chambres la nuit. Excellent souper au restaurant de l’hôtel, même chose pour le petit déjeuner. Emplacement idéal pour prendre le ferry à Mallaig le lendemain."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Glenfinnan! Every member of the team was incredibly warm & welcoming. The food was fabulously delicious. The location was perfect. The view was impeccable and we can’t wait to come back. Make this a stop on your trip and make sure to enjoy the complimentary breakfast (caviar included)!"

"Room was nice, staff were very nice. We ate in the dining room the first night. The food was very tasty but quantities were very small and extremely expensive for the tiny amount provided. Full breakfast was very big and good. We had waffles on day two which was disappointingly small. Location of the hotel was lovely."

"Beautiful room - a comfortable place that feels like a home. Attention to detail was throughout. From the carpet to the ceiling was quality, and extremely clean. The sunny living room was so comfortable. This beautiful little harbor town had the friendliest folks. The only regret, I didn’t book a longer stay. Side note - I usually don’t write reviews, but this place was too nice not to share."

Loch Shiel Hotel

4/10 Poor

"The only things the Loch Shiel had going for it was that it was clean and on the way to where we were going. The view out the back of the hotel was a very nice bonus. The staff aside from the bartender was grouchy, cold and unfriendly. Absolutely zero Highland hospitality. The menu you see online IS NOT the menu available at the restaurant. The actual menu is very limited and the food was not very good. We were the first group seated at dinner at 7 and the last group served at 8:30 pm. There were 5 other groups who came in after us and were served and finished their meals before we were even served. We cannot recommend Loch Shiel hotel. If you need a hotel in the area our friends had a much better experience in the town of Strantion."
