"We had a lovely night at the Mermaid Guest House. Room was comfy, service was great and breakfast was fantastic with great variety and gluten free options. There were several little touches that made big differences, in the decor or room setup, such as a reasonably priced minibar and great pillows. It felt like staying at a friend’s beach house a few blocks from the beach and on a quiet street.
Do note their request to check in by 6pm/1800–we didn’t notice in the hotels.com email and were...

"Beautiful surroundings, quiet and private. Clean and well furnished, kitchen well done.
The locking of the gate at 6 was a surprise to us and it would be nice to mention it or highlight this, phoning to say we are running 30 min late we did not get an option….very stressful on that road. Arriving we realised that the gate was manned and could have been opened for us 😟
The restaurant is very pricy, would be popular if there could be some cheaper family options.
