Very pleasant. The house was bright and airy. Except for the extremely dull knives the kitchen was well appointed although somewhat disorganized. We also found lots of left over food in the refrigerator and on the counters.

great house and setting, but didn't feel ready for renters

We had a great week as the setting was beautiful, and there is wonderful hiking and wilderness close by. The lakes all around were great for fishing, paddle-boarding and swimming. The house has a great floor plan for hanging out, with lots of light and windows, and the deck was really lovely. We also enjoyed the pool table. Unfortunately, it really didn't feel as though they prepared the house for us as renters who were paying quite a bit for a weeklong vacation in their home. All the shelves were full of food when we arrived, and there wasn't much room for ours, so we had to keep a lot of it in the floor in boxes all week. We also had to throw out multiple items of moldy and rotten food that we found in the fridge when we arrived, which felt like a bummer when starting a vacation. The freezer was so full that we could barely fit anything in it. Lastly, the ad on VRBO at the time we rented the house listed a grill as one of the amenities, which we had checked before we arrived. We were there during a heat wave and brought a bunch of stuff we planned to grill. There was no grill available, and when we reached out to the property manager and the owner about this, no solution was offered. But they have now clarified the listing which no longer lists a grill under amenities. This is a great house and a great area to have a wonderful summer vacation, but for the amount of money it costs to rent it, a bit more care could be taken to prepare it for renters.
