Our birthday trip

My daughter, son, daughter in law and I all had birthdays Jan.22-30, with two of us celebrating decade birthdays. We really enjoyed our stay: the young kids, aged 3-9 loved the beach, and despite the chilly air, they loved the sand and water being so close to the house: The adults loved it too!

Lovely house for a yearly stay

We have been visiting Atlantic Beach for over 30 years for an annual beach stay and family gathering. The Blount house was wonderful for our family- plenty of room to spread out and well appointed baths and bedrooms. The kitchen was great- a big space where several could work on our family meals. It was well supplied with cutlery, cookware, equipment, and spices. We could tell that the house was well-loved by the owners.

Ocean Front and Great Location

We had a fantastic stay at Blount Cottage. The large deck overlooking the ocean is just awesome. The wood paneling make the inside a bit dark but it didn’t matter with the amazing deck. There is a private path to the beach and great yard. When checking in, the home was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen is updated and very nice with everything needed to cook/clean. Grill, laundry, etc all worked great. Location is perfect 1/2 mile from AB boardwalk. Overall great stay.

Excellent location on AB

Family ages 20-98 had a fabulous time at the Blount Cottage. Very comfortable beds and living areas. Access to beach was excellent. We had to attend to some minor housekeeping issues in the beginning but all was good once we did that. Owner needs to speak to neighbor with 3 large dogs that are loud and come over to the property to relieve themselves. We'd rent again since we did some cleaning for the next renters.

Wonderful Porch!

This traditional beach house has it all! The kitchen has been remodeled and is a cook’s dream. Lots of space, well equipped and bright. The house has two living areas, perfect for groups with kids who want their own space. The porch is spacious and covered with a beautiful view of the beach beyond. Easy walk on a private wooden walkway to the beach itself. The house was sparkling clean and bedrooms were nicely furnished with bright linens. Bathrooms were small and master could use new shower head. We had a great week at this cottage and would enjoy coming back!

Family reunion

We loved the location of this home and the beachfront porch was perfect. Nice kitchen also. We had all adults staying here and a few things I would suggest. We had to repair a bed leg in the upstairs first bedroom because a leg was broken outward and we felt like it was not supported. The mattresses need to be replaced in all but king rooms. Everyone that slept on those mattresses were uncomfortable. For a home of this caliber, it would be nice for new shower liners and some of the wood In bathrooms are very rough. We also had 2 people cut themselves on nails that were raised. We repaired these also. There needs repair work on these details I mentioned. Thank you

Excellent Property

Our family had a wonderful time staying here, and we are looking forward to returning to this property in the future! It was beautifully clean when we arrived, linens were included, and there was plenty of space for our family members. We fell in love with the kitchen, and as a family that loves to cook, we felt this kitchen was much more equipped than most other rentals we have stayed in. The kitchen and the dining room were both very well lit, making us very comfortable even in the days we were indoors more often. We felt there were lots of comforts that our family appreciated, like beach equipment and fishing rods available for use, access to the house on both levels beach side, and an enclosed garage with an extra fridge for storage. We aren't a big TV family, but there are plenty of screens for families that would use them. Communicating with Jane was timely and very friendly. We highly recommend this property to anyone considering!

Wonderful beach view from this classic beauty of a house

Every thing was as advertised: terrific view, magnificent beach (the weather gods spared us from the wrath of Fiona, the hurricane). My fault on misunderstanding about the entry situation. I left the key on kitchen counter, that I somehow got out of the key pad on the right side of the house. Air conditioner was making weird "pulsing" sounds on about the second day. No complaints on the lower level about the air temp after that day. Because the weather cooled?? We broke one wine glass and replaced it with a box of 4 glasses. Loved the beach, house, the return to NC hospitality. S.M.

Best oceanfront view with the antique house structure

The house is really beautiful, clean and the view is awesome! My family members enjoyed staying in this place. The kitchen was recently renovated and a few minor additional renovations are needed though. But overall we enjoyed our time and will be back soon. 😊👍

Fabulous long weekend

Relaxing Beach "Weekend"

Booked the house for a 4 night stay with five of my long time girl friends. The property manager was great and the location was perfect. The views and easy access to the beach were just what we were looking for! There were several restaurants and shops less than a 20 minute walk from the house. The house had plenty of space and lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was updated and had lots of dishes, cookware, etc. It was also nice that shelf stable items like cooking oil, sugar, spices, etc were left behind in the cabinets so we didn't need to buy those. The only things we didn't love about the house was that aside from the kitchen the house was on the older/outdated side. This led to the home and rooms having a dark feel since much of it was wood paneling. The other odd thing was that the two refrigerators had a lot of food (mostly condiments) and drink items left in them.

Atlantic Beach

This was our second stay at this Atlantic Beach property. We really enjoyed it. The house is spacious and comfortable. The back deck and rocking chairs are a favorite place to hang out and the beach is very nice. Hardly anybody near us on the beach. Overall a nice experience!

Great Beach Getaway

We rented the house with a couple other families to attend a charity event. Everything was as described in the listing and the beach access and views were perfect. We will definitely be back!
