They were probably the most helpful hotel staff we experienced in Japan, and we enjoyed talking with them. We tried the breakfast in the cafe one day and it was good. "This summer, we stayed at multiple hotels, all of which turned out to be good. But my family loved this hotel most. It's a little dated but well maintained. The staff members were professional, very helpful, and friendly. The hotel room was spacious. The laundry room, which had a vending machine, ice maker, and microwave, was very convenient. Minor complaint: I have to say that I don't like that we had to take a step to enter the bathroom (uneven levels which are common in old hotels in Japan). BUT I loved the shower (great water pressure, simplicity, and functionality). Good location: right by JR Okayama Station and the street car; lots of restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this hotel!"
